Why not get involved with other moms so she has friends she can play with that are not in a program?
I tried to enroll my daughter in the Head Start Program, but they don't have any room for her. I can't afford to send her anywhere, it's just too stinking expensive!!! Does anyone have any suggestions for stuff that I can get my 4 y/o involved with during the day that doesn't require money. I feel bad for her, she justs sits here alone most of the day, I can only do so much with her before I have to get to the cleaning and other household stuff. I really wanted her to get into the program, because she starts kindergarten next Sept.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do. I live in the Willow Grove area, does anyone know of anything that I can have her do?

The council rock school district has a pre scholl program and it is 25.00 a semester. I think the seniors run it. (they are going to pursue education as a degree. Many high school and colleges that offer childhood development course offer this type of pre-school at a reduced rate. The kids love it because these girls are excited to work the program. So...I would start with your local school districts and college campuses. www.livegreeneasy.com
Also did you look into mothers day out and home based pre-schools?
Hi J.,
I often find that the local library has a lot of activities for small children. The library close to you, Upper Moreland Library, has a storytime for children that your daughter might enjoy. It is on Thursdays at 10:30 AM. If you go to their website, you can find other events and happenings that you may be interested in. It is http://www.uppermorelandlibrary.org/. Also, have you tried getting into a mom's group? There are several on the website http://www.meetup.com. Most of them don't cost anything and they schedule playdates and other events where everyone in the group meets together and has a good time with their kids.
you could also try the YMCA... they have programs for pre-school age kids that are maybe 2.5 hours, and you can do it however many days a week you want!
