Hello everyone,

I live in Oceanside and my oldest son attended "Country Day School" in Vista before the family moved away. He was already in second grade before they closed but now that it's time for me to start my youngest in preschool I have no idea where to start. I thought I wasn't going to have to worry the second time around as our oldest loved country day so much. Does anyone have a recommendation as to great preschools that you are really pleased with. My son will be three in May so we would like to start looking at them now. Thanks so Much,
C. B

One of my friends will be enrolling their baby in http://aspiringchild.com/ in Carlsbad. I went on a tour of it and it is AMAZING!

Hi C.,

I live in Oceanside too! My son goes to St. Mary, Star of the Sea Preschool on Wisconsin Ave. (off of South Coast Highway). WE LOVE IT! It is a fantastic school. We couldn't ask for better teachers. The other families are nice too! They have 2, 3, and 5-day programs, half- or full-day. The phone number is ###-###-####. The director's name is Debbie Shapiro. She is awesome and welcomes visitors to the school. The cost is very reasonable and volunteering at the school is optional.

My godchildren go to Old Mission Montessori School next to Mission San Luis Rey. They love it there too.

Both schools have a Catholic focus but you do not have to be Catholic to attend. Also, there are no crazy overnight camp-outs to get into the schools, either!

Good luck!

First Presbyterian on El Camino Real is fantastic. You have to actually wait in line (April I think) to get a spot but it's well worth it. Call the director for a tour.

The Montessori method of education is the best for little ones. Do a little research. I know that the Fallbrook Montessori School is very professional and top notch. There is another montessori at the mission but I am unsure of the quality.
