Britax Roundabout - LOVE IT!
I have a preggo pappa rocker highchair and HATE it. I it very difficult to clean. I recommend getting a highchair that is all one piece. My hc has a red leather cover and I have to take it off every time to clean. I kinda wish I had just a booster seat of a restraunt hc.

I have the Fisher Price Space Saver high chair. I gott it at Target. I love it because it straps to a kitchen chair and can be used from infant to older toddler. I did not want another separate chair taking up more kitchen space. The only thing I would rec is putting something under the high chair to protect the wooden chair. Also, to me it seems like the child is included in the meal and not just pulled over. Not a real big thing, but important to me.

We bought the Recarro Youth sport for our 12 month old son. It came highly recommended from the employee at USA baby. We also researched it online and found it to be the safest seat because it has EPA foam as well as side impact protection. The first day my son used it his diaper leaked poopie in the car seat so I can say from experience it cleans well also. :)

Shortly after age one, our climbing boy decided booster seats were way cooler than high chairs so we have been using a Safety 1st booster chair w/ tray that straps onto a normal chair. Ours is a folding type which is great for travel (like to grandma's or friend's house). Ours can seat any baby that is able to sit up (4-6 mos. and up) until they are tall enough or mature enough for a normal chair. Check a consignment sale this month for used boosters or high chairs if you're not picky about it being brand new.

For toddler car seat, there are so many brands to choose from and personal preferences. Whatever type you decide, make sure it's easy to adjust the straps, latch and unlatch, will accommodate your little one until he's at least 4'6" and can be reasonably cleaned. For the traveler, we bought a Radian 65 used in my husband's car that folds in half and installs very quickly (once you get the hang of installing in general), and is FAA approved. Those are found online: http://www.mypreciouskid.com/infant-car-seat-radian65.html

Good luck!

We have done a lot of research on carseats and found that the Britax Boulevard was the best choice for us! I LOVE the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair because it lets your child sit with you at the table. We purchased the infant attachment for it and love the idea that it can grow with him!

We use the Britax Roundabout for my daughter. It works with both seatbelt and latch, which is good because my car is older and doesn't have the latch. It is fairly easy to install. The Marathon would have been a better choice because it is slightly bigger (and has a higher weight limit). But it was more expensive and wouldn't fit in the car I had at the time. We bought it at Babies R Us. I would suggest that you go to a store where you can take the carseat to your car to try it before you buy it.

As for the highchair, we use the Fisher Price Easy Clean high chair. (http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2011&e=detail&...) I bought last year's model on clearance at Babies R Us. The straps come off easily and can be cleaned in the dishwasher with the tray. The seat cover comes off very easy too. The only problem I've had is with the convenient wipe holder. It's very convenient for cleanup..and now it's at the perfect height for my daughter to open and scatter the wipes.

I have the First Years Feeding/Booster Seat, have used it for my daughter and son and will use it for our new baby. I love it!!!It easily straps to a dining chair so you don't have to worry about where to store a large high chair, it has 3 reclining options so it is good to use if you have another baby before they can sit up straight, has a removable seat and tray that I pop in the dishwasher at the end of the day, and lasts longer than a high chair because you can use it as a booster and slide them up to the table as they get older.

As for the carseat I have the Evenflo Triumph for my 4 year old daughter, and 14 month old son. It is around the $130.00 to $150.00 range but gets the same ease of use and safety ratings as those in the $200.00 range. The only bad thing I wouls say about it is that it is a pain to remove the cover to wash it, but its easy to use, comfortable and my kids dont seem to get hot in it, and most importantly safe. When my daughter was 3 and my son 6 weeks we were in a car accident, had the Evenflo seats, and neither had a bruise or scrape on them.

I use an Evenflo high chair that is red and khaki checkered...not sure of the model. I love it! I got it at Babies R Us, and it was one of the cheapest ones there, and still my favorite. I actually just bought 2 toddler car seats (one for each car) for my little girl, and I did my research here on Mamasource. The best one I found was the Fisher Price one made by Britax. It's much cheaper than the Britax ones, but just as good. This is where it was the cheapest. http://www.albeebaby.com/fiprsavodeco2.html I haven't found anything I don't like about it, and it also goes up to 55 lbs instead of 40 lbs like most others. When we got it installed by the Plano Police Department, the officer kept saying how much he liked it. He even called another officer over to show him this awesome car seat he hadn't seen before. Good luck!

I can give you a ton of reccomendations on carseats, but I need to know what your budget is and what kind of car you will be installing this seat in! :-)
You need to make sure to buy a convertible seat, since your son is not old enough, and probably doesn't weigh enough to be turned forward facing any time soon. Feel free to email me if you'd like to chat more. (I'm a carseat junkie and getting certified in a couple of weeks to become a CPST, a carseat tech)

I just kicked my fancy upholstered Fisher Price highchair to the curb for a $20 Ikea highchair. I LOVE IT! So much easier to clean...it has a much smaller footprint in my kitchen...lightweight. Should have done it a long time ago.

For carseats, we love our Britax Marathons.

Hi J.,
I too have a booster for my daughter. We have VERY limited space in our tiny townhouse so it really was the only option for us when we bought it. We have the Fisher price saftey booster (or somthing like that). We started putting her it when she was 5 months old and sitting on her own well just so she could really be a part of meal time. She is 17 months old now and still fits just fine in it and its "her chair". We can also leave the tray off and have her sit at the table. Its easy to clean and easy to put in a closet or corner when company comes over and we need the extra chair. There really isn't anything I don't like about it.

As far as carseats...we also have a VERY limited budget so we really tried hard to find a seat that was safe and less expensive. We chose the Alpha Omega Alpha Elite. I just saw an add at Babies r us for 150. This is a convertible that goes up to 100 pounds as a booster. Our daughter likes it and despite some reviews we read that it is hard to use, I've NEVER had a problem with her fitting in it or being able to tighten the straps.

Good luck with your search!

I have the Evenflo Triumph DLX and I love it as do both of my kids. The newest version actually goes up to 50 pounds instead of 40. It's rated as highly as the Britax, safety wise, and it's about $100 cheaper. I've been so pleased with it, that i'm thinking of getting another since I have two kids now. Definitely read the manual though, because there are features that can be frustrating if you don't know how to work them, like the harness tightening and stuff like that. It's really easy if you know how to do it, but I read many reviews where people were complaining about certain features being difficult, and it was obvious they didn't read the directions!

We have one of the booster seats with a tray that straps on to a regular chair. Ours is the first years, but now there are so many out, I don't know what I'd choose. I love that it turns into a booster that pushes up to the table, so it's one less thing to buy, and I also love that I don't have a big high chair in my eating area. I don't love that I lost the use of a dining chair. It's inconvenient when people come over and I have to unhook it so we can sit down...

I love the Chicco Polly highchair. My biggest concern with highchairs is cleanliness. I wanted something easy to clean, that did not easily accumulate a bunch of "gunk". This highchair is all plastic & vinyl, although not cheaply made. It's easy to wipe down daily and when it needs a super cleaning, we wheel it outside and spray it down with a cleaning agent and hose. (You could put it in the shower too.) It's dry by morning and germ-free! We started using it at 6 months and are still using it at 26 months.

Britax for carseats. We have the Marathon. They are very well made and pretty easy to handle, as far as car seats go. We bought the Fisher Price one (already mentioned) to put in a second car and my husband (who is the car seat handler) doesn't care for it as much. He does not like the way it operates and does not feel like it has the security our Britax does. So, if HE picks the $200+ seat against the $100+ seat... well that says something to me considering he's a price shopper. I have also heard good things about the Evenflo Triumph. I wish we had gotten it as our second seat.

After tons of research we love the Britax Marathon. You could also buy the Decathalon, Boulavard, Regant or Roundabout. Each have different height and weight capacities, but are the same quality. When I bought our daughters a year ago it was listed on consumer reports as one of the best car seats for safety. When it was time to buy my son a new seat we purchased another one. My husband needed one for his truck. We looked and looked for maybe a cheaper car seat because he does not use it a lot, but went back and bought another Marathon. They are so easy to use and the traps never get tangled which is another great reason to buy a Britax. Right now elitecarseats.com is having a Britax sale 10% off and free shipping. I could not possibly say enough about these seats they are great.

As far as high chairs I love my Graco Harmony high chair. It reclines which is nice for a baby. You can change the height of the chair so it does fit under your table once she is ready to eat at the table. Also it does not tip over. My two year old loves to sit at the table, but she will put her feet at the on a brace under the table an push off on it. If she is sitting on a chair with a booster she will tip backwards. Pretty scary! The base this high chair will not allow this to happen. Good luck with your search.

As far as car seats, I love my Britax Boulevard. I have heard good things about the Britax Marathon also.

I had the Evenflo Majestic Discovery High Chair, which is very nice and has all the features I liked... extra storage space for the bottle, adjustable height, dish washer safe trays, attachable play center, etc. However, my son only used it for a couple of months, and was out of it well before he turned 1. He loves his $15 plain old booster seat. It does have a seatbelt and tray table and attaches to the chair securely. Plus it doesn't take up all that extra space in your kitchen! If you feel your son is old enough, I would just go straight to a booster. Mine is http://www.safety1st.com/product.asp?productID=85 but there are several like it.
