Suggestion for Toys for Two Year Old Boy.

It's that time of year again, and I'm stumped on what to get my two year old son for Christmas. I'd like to get him some toys that he can grow with. I'm looking for advice or suggestions from anyone and everyone. My son loves books, puzzles and match box cars. We just had a Birthday for him in August so we got a lot of those things. Does anyone have any ideas for learning toys, or something for next summer? Or just something that their son and or daughter really enjoyed and was able to use for a long time. Thanks for your help.

My son loves mega blocks. He was two years old in July. Are there any Dvd's you could get him? My son likes,Elmo, bob the builder, barney and Thomas the train. His favorite is bob the builder and Thomas the train. If he likes to color get him a little art set with water paints in them. My son colors all of the time. it is good for their eye and hand coordination. I saw a nice set at BJ's for under $20. I also saw in today's paper in the coupon section for personalized books.

bath crayons kept my daughter busy forever! side walk chalk. a folding slide from toys r us for the summer, i think they run around 80 bucks are so and are the perfect size for toddlers. i even put the slide end in my daughters kiddie pool. it is small enough that she can safely climb up and down and slid down in her pool... (supervised of course!) books that come with cds to play and read in the car or at home. my daughter has a leap pad but she is 3 soon and still hasnt quite gotten the hang of it yet, but its neat. the leap frog magnets and letter holder. you put each letter in the holder and it says, "A says ahhh, B says bbbb...." its really neat too. tonka truck books where you push the side buttons and it makes noise! melissa and doug brand puzzles and blocks are great. flash cards... they have some sesame street ones at dollar store. also they sell coloring/activity books with sesame street characters there or many other characters. about colors, shapes, numbers, letters, spelling, ect. my daughter likes to try and copy the letters.

Hi K.,

My son just turned 2 as well so I know what you mean. Our boys like a lot of the same things. We bought him and easel which has a chalk board on one side and a dry erase board on the other side which you can put magnets on until he is bigger to use markers and such. Ours also has clips on it so they can paint or color standing up. HE LOVES IT!!!
Good Luck on your search!

All little boys like to play a good drum!! Look at the Remo Floor Tom for him. I brought these to a Holiday Fair last weekend, and there was not a single child who could walk past that drum without playing it. It is the biggest selling drum I have. Lots of musical instruments on this website: http://www.littlelovees.com, even musical toys for the bathtub! Check out all the early childhood music cds, too. I am very picky about music, it has to be something the parents can listen to also. Music is definetly something children can "grow with". Studies show that musical learning encompasses SO many learning channels in the brain at one time! Very good for him.

My so loved his GeoTracks at that age. He's 6 now and still plays with them. Also imaginex toys are great for 2 and up. They have all different play sets including castle, batman, fishing boat, dinosour adventure, and jungle. Batman and the castle are my sons favorites. He still plays with them. They also fold up so you can take them with you. Both GeoTracks and Imaginex are sturdy toys that last.

Good Morning! We got our son a 12volt John Deere Tractor with a scoop on the front and cart in the back. He was a little over 1yr when we got it for him and he didn't really understand how to use it until he was a little over 2yrs old. He is now three and rides it all over. We have a large yard and we go camping a lot and he enjoys riding this toy everywhere. I got it at Walmart for about $200. Putting it together was a challenge...the directions were not written well but it was well worth it. He has gotten lots of enjoyment out of it. Now he even gives rides to his friends. He drives while the other rides in the cart.
