S.P.
My son did this too, just recently at about 10 months. We found that if we made sure he had a good amount of protein before bed (cheese, yogurt, or meat for dinner),
it decreased his night waking. Good luck@
My 9 month old has been STTN for almost 3 months- a full 11 to 12 hours a night. All of a sudden she has woken the past three nights ravenous and sucks down a 4 ounce bottle in no time flat. She clearly needs more formula during the day but when I tried to up her bottle from 6 ounces to 8, she only drank the 6 she's accustomed to. I tried it with 3 of her 4 daily bottles and she did the same thing each time. Will this night feeding pass soon? Any suggestions for increasing the day-time bottle? I've gotten spoiled by all this sleep, I hate to think we're backtracking! I am assuming its a growth spurt but am concerned its not and this is her new eating pattern. YIKES!

Have you considered that this could be related to teething? The bottle could be helping to soothe her aching mouth, besides filling her tummy. Just be careful how you handle this, because you don't want to start poor sleeping habits. Maybe you could try some Motrin before putting her down to see if that helps. Good luck!
this is normal- all babies have growth spurts. Unfortunately you have to roll with it- you are not backtracking- she is just growing and needing more right now. eating more during the day does not help with night time eating. She needs food when she needs it- if she is only waking once you are fortunate:) I know you got used to it and now it is tough- just tell yourself that she needs you and she is growing strong and healthy- I always told myself with my daughter and now my 3 month old that I need to be prepared to wake often that is what they need me for:)
I it also good if she just wakes and then goes right back- hope you are not up for hours with one bottle:) Good luck and know it is normal
She is probably going through a growth spurt and/or is busier now in the day (crawling, walking, exploring) and simply has less time to eat! ;-) You could try having her day time feedings in a darkened quiet room with few distractions. This may help her to get down to business and drink more. If not, just know that this, too, shall pass! :) Enjoy that baby!
Hello! I am so there with you. My youngest is 11 month old and I am struggling with the same thing. Depending on how many ounces of formula she took over the course, I have given her another bottle in her sleep between 10:00 and 10:30 PM, so the feeding would be at least on my schedule that way. Most times she does not even really wake up and takes almost an entire 6 oz bottle. Then she will sleep through until about 6 AM.
Over the last couple of days it has worked out that she got a largish bottle and a 6 oz jar of baby food within 90 min before bed, and then she slept through. I am hoping that this is the solution and that it will work out more often....
D.
Im not much help considering we cosleep & my DD nurses whenever she needs, but I can offer that maybe her stomach wont hold more than 6 oz at a time. Also, you dont mention solids. Can you up her baby food intake during the day?
