Sturdy 3-Ring Binder for Middle Schooler

I need to buy my son his 3rd 3-ring binder of the school year. Any suggestions on sturdy ones? He first had a trapper keeper which lasted about 3 months until the vinyl tore apart. Then I bought him a $17 Mead 5 star binder with the zipper around it thinking it would last much longer. It also only lasted 3 months (the 3-ring binder tore out of the outside). I know he stuffs it pretty full and it gets a lot of use, although I don't think he is really rough with it. Any suggestions or am I unreasonable to hope to get one that will last a whole school year?

What can I do next?

I don't think they make a 3-ring binder for middle school boys that they won't destroy. Buy a cheap on and have a spare on hand! (My son trashed his too.)

I have to agree with S.B. We are on our second set of binders. I thought it was because I had purchased the less expensive ones, and when we replaced those with the better ones, no luck. Now I guess I will just buy the cheaper ones in bulk.

I think that no matter what you pay for binders they are still going to fall apart after a few months of useage expecally with a middle schooler. My suggestion is to go to walmart or target and what not and get may 2 or 3 binders at about $3 a piece that way you have them at the start of the year and you have spent $9 instead of $17 that will only get a few months use. Its just that a lot of stuff is being outsourced out of the country and they stuff is low quality even though you are paying the same or even more for a subpar product. I shop at the dollar store for school supplies and walmart and the end of the school year for deals - I dont try to spend too much money and I feel nothing will last long I rather by many than one that cost more than 3....sorry I couldnt give some suggestions....

I have a binder I use for my Political Science Class: It's an Avery Heavy Duty One Touch EZD binder that is PVC Free. I have the one that is heavy duty. I got it at Staples. I think it was like five dollars. Good luck!
