I need some advise if any of you moms have ever had this....Anyway I had my tonsils out at the end of May and ever since then my nose has been stuffy sometimes to the point that I can't even breath through my nose. I have an appointment to see my dr again at the beginning of Sept, but I'm kinda afraid he may say that I have to have some more work done, I also had my adnoids out at the same time. Has anyone had this problem after getting their tonsils out or maybe even your kids. I have even tried allergy medicine and NOTHING clears it up. I am so frustrated at this point.

What can I do next?

Hi R.,

Your body needs adaptogens! My husband and I ordered an incredible book off Amazon titled Adaptogens: Herbs for Strength, Stamina, and Stress Relief by Winston and Maimes. It is fascinating. From the book "There is a category of herbs called adaptogens that help the human body adapt to stress, support normal metabolic processes, and restore balance. They increase the body's resistance to physical, biological, emotional, and environmental stressors and promote normal physiologic function".

The 10 most potent adaptogens on the earth, with the highest therapeutic properties available, are now delievered in a fast acting oral spray, called Tunguska Mist. Go to www.VitalHealth.TunguskaMist.com to learn more.

Tunguska Mist Pure will help reduce the negative effects of stress on your body (weakened immune system, decreased energy, mood swings, anxiety, depression, and fatigue), and help restore balance, or homeostasis. Tunguska Mist tastes great and with the intra-oral spray you get over 90% of the nutrients absorbed immediately, which go to work within seconds.

My husband used to be on allergy medications and used Affrin all the time. Since he's been taking adaptogens, my husband doesn't deal with the stuffy nose and congestion, and no longer takes any medications. Please let me know if you have any questions. We are passionate about helping people reduce the damaging effects of stress on the body and restoring balance naturally, without medications. Good luck and God Bless:)

Best regards,
N.

No idea if this has anything to do with your situation, but I went through this after my second child, although it was several years after my tonsils were taken out. I was afraid to go to the doctor because I was just sure I was going to have some surgery or major medicine and I was nursing at the time. I finally went after about 10 months, and it turned out that I had a scab on the inside of my nose that just wouldn't heal because it kept getting "nose stuff" built up on it, and then I would blow and blow to clear it out, and the scab would come off so it would never heal. Gross, I know. Turned out that all I had to do was put hydrogen peroxide on a q tip and clean it and put neosporin on it and it cleared up very quickly. That's probably not your problem, but I just wished I would have gone to the doctor sooner, because it was such a simple fix.

Hi R.,

I hope you get some relief soon.

My brother(19yrs) had the same procedure as you...tonsils and adenoids removal(years ago) he is still suffering from a stuffy nose. I actually think it's worse. He's seen many allergists who just give him allergy meds and nothing seems to work. At this point, he's just learned to deal with it and keep tissue in his pockets.

I really hope you can find someone to help.

Have you ever "flushed" out your nose. Oprah showed a Neti pot on her show once and I loved it.

I use a bulb (like the ones the hospital uses to suction out the baby's nose at birth). You put about 1 tsp of UN-IODIZED salt into a large mouthed cup and add 2 cups of bath-temperature water to it and mix it well.

Blow your nose first. Fill the bulb with the solution. Tilt your head 45 degrees forward and 45 degrees to one side. Insert the bulb's tube into the upper nostril and SLOWLY squeeze the water into your nose. Breath normally through the mouth during this process. It will "flush" the nasal cavity and drain out the other nostril. (Do this over the sink or in the shower.) Repeat on other side.

This is safe enough to do once or twice a day.

I hope it helps. :o)

Blessings,
