Hey ladeis, my twin girls, 11 months, were up all last night with pretty bad stuffy nose's. ( Of course that meant i was up all night trying to suction out the snot to help them breathe.) does any one have any other suggestions on things i can do to help my two girls? The doctor says theres nothing to give them....so i need to be resourceful, becuase i would like to sleep tonight.

What can I do next?

I put children's vicks on the the bottom of my daughters feet and in between her toes and put her socks on. This also works for adults, I highly recommend it!!! Good Luck!

More than likely it's not actually snot that's making them congested, it's the dry air in your house. Run a cool mist vaporizer every night, be it there sick or not. My daughter and I have a terrible time with this in the winter and heard something about the winter dry air causing this problem and that's what they said to do.

I like the Vick's Cool Mist Vaporizer, you have to put in cold water, but it comes out as a warm mist. Then if they're sick or really congested there's a little spout to put liquid Vick's. It's great. Also put Vick's on their chest to help with the congestion.

Another thing that I have used for my son, is Little Noses nasal spray. It's just a saline solution in a little squirty bottle that you spray up their nose. It takes about 2 squirts for each nostril. It helps to loosen up some of the snot. If you're gonna do this, you wanna do it probably 10-15 min before you suction out their noses to give it time to work its magic. I hope you get some sleep tonight. I didn't get any last night myself, but that's just cuz my son decided he was done sleeping. ;)

My son who is 11 was congested really bad and had a stuffy nose which kept him up all night. I took him to the doctor and she said 1st get a humidifier, if you don't have one right now...run the hot water in your bathroom, close the door, let the room get steamy, sit in there with them and that might help. Saline spray might also help if the air is dry. None of that helped my son and the Dr. suggested I buy Afrin nose spray...I don't know what the age is on that but it worked instantly. Good luck!
