well i think i told you about the turkey prep and here goes the stuffing. I tear up 2 loaves of bread and dry them either over my heating vents in the house with a towel over them or else in the oven until crunchy. I then use butter and chicken broth, italian seasoning, salt and pepper and mix it all together until moist then the morning of I stuff my turkey right before I place it in the oven, after I salt the inside cavity. One thing to remember is that a turkey takes longer to bake with it stuffed, so be sure to check your bird's temperature to make sure its safely done. There's nothing worse than an undercooked bird to ruin the holidays. Great Luck J. :)

This will sound like a total cop out, but nobody knows the difference. I take my favorite box stuffing and mix it up according to box directions. Then I stuff the turkey with it. After the turkey is done I make another box of stuffing and prepare it with less water than directed so it is still dry and crunchy. Then I mix the stuffing from the turkey with the dryer stuffing and it turns out well because the texture is not completely mushy.

My Mom's easy stuffing recipe and I don't stuff the turkey anymore, better for you and the family.

Chop celery and cook it in water and 2 table spoons butter until soft and then drain water.
Cook 1 pound of bacon, til slightly crispy. When cool, break into small pieces. Take 1 bag of plain and 1 bag of seasoned cubed bread crumbs. Combine all items and then moisten with canned chicken stock, about 1 - 2 cans depending on how much bread and how moist you like it. Add some salt and peper to your taste. Then cook in a pan, covered in foil, in the oven until hot.

It is plain but tastes very good. My entire family loves it because it does not take away from the flavors of everything else, compliments it.

Have a great thanksgiving!

S.,
This is what i do to stuff a Turkey I cut up about 3 quarters of a stalk of celery, and then i cut up 3 quarters of a thing of whole carrots, and then i cut up like 1 and a half things of onion, then in a large skillet, i melt like two things of butter, and after they are melted i put the carrots onion and celery in and mix it altogether and cook it all until the carrots and celery are soft, and then i take about a loaf and a half of bread, and cut it all up into cubes, then i put it in a big bowl or a big deep pan and i put the celery carrot mixure all over and stir it together, then i add some chicken seasoning, or adobe seasoning and then stir it again, then i just look to see if it's all stired prety well, sometimes i have to add a little bit more butter, but that's up to you, but then i stuff the turkey. and i love this stuffing.

i'm like you i don't like carrberries or chestnuts in my stuffing either, and i'm not a big fan of meat in the stuffing. I hope that this helps you out. Good luck

The easiest is Stove Top Stuffing just add water. If you want homemade stuffing use 2-3 loafs of bread celery and onion(celery and onion cut up of course)Break bread into pieces just pull them into 1/2inch to 1inch pieces and place all ingredients in the bowl also salt and pepper to taste. Now for the broth you can use chicken broth or chicken stock, but what my family does is boil the neck, the gizzards the heart and liver of the turkey with salt, pepper and butter and pour that over the bread mixture, mix until bread is soft (not soggy )and makes outstanding stuffing.

Our family does cornbread stuffing with cheese and a little bit of groung sausage. My kids love it. The sausage for some reason gives it good flavor. I just use stove top (corn breadstuffing) sausage celery onions ground sausage and some monteray jack cheese. I do not cook it in the turkey. I make a casserole style dish. Another great recipie just wanted to share is pumpkin roll the directions can be found on the libby's website. Happy Holidays!! www.livegreeneasy.com
