Does your 2 1/2 year old still use a stroller? How often? I am expecting baby # 2 in August and my son will be 2 1/2 then. I am wondering if I should get a double stroller. My fear is that my son won't want to ride in it by that age. What are your thoughts? Thanks!!

What can I do next?

J.,
I currently have a 4yr old son and a 16mo old daughter. This passed December we went to Florida. I used my double stroller and it came in handy. I was going back and forth if I should buy one or not. I am so glad I did. There are so many different types of strollers that you can get. I didn't think my son would want to sit in it, but when he didn't want to walk anymore, it beat carrying him. Plus he could relax and enjoy himself.

I have a 3 yr old and a newborn. We decided to get a "sit and stand" instead of a double stroller for various reasons: we were not sure if our older son would sit, double strollers are heavy and huge, etc. We like the sit and stand, as our older son can sit when he is tired, but most of the times he walk. It is not a comfortable stroller if you plan to have your older child nap on it and it does not have a big basket, but other than that, it works great for us. We have a Joovy Caboose Ultralight.

We still use our stroller; dd will be 4 in a few days. It's mainly for when she wants a break at the museum or when I want to walk somewhere FAST...LOL!

My son is 2.5 and he still uses the stroller. Not all of the time, but he gets tired sometimes when we are out and it is much easier to deal with if you have the stroller to contain those terrible 2's sometimes. Strap him in and he's stuck. I don't think it will be long though before he's done with the stroller. I would give my son maybe another 6mo. So my suggestion is that if you are going to get one see if you can find a used one. Garage sale season is coming soon and there are some really nice second hand stores around. Also, craigs list can have them, but you have to keep checking it. Good luck...

Well, I have the sit and stand baby trend stoller-my last two children are 13 months apart. My daughter that is 2 will occasionally ride in the stroller-it just depends what we are doing(and the fact that she has 2 older sisters). We have not gotten to use the stroller in the summer months yet, but I think my 2y/o will really use it. Especially b/c it isnt like she is in a baby seat-she can choose to sit or stand back there-both ways safely. I have found that it is not as bulky as a regular double stroller. Good luck and congrats on your soon to be new arrival.
