When I was looking for a double stroller I found one on line for about fifty dollars after shipping on-line it was a umbrella stroller and not only was it light bet it folded up small enough to not take up too much space in the back of my car. I cant remeber the sight I found it on you could google double umbrella strollers thats what I did.

I think craigslist and ksl.com are a place to find terrific buys on used stuff for babies/children. You don't have to pay shipping and you can look before buying. A lot of people advertise because they are free to buyers and sellers. Good luck.

The BOB double is great - safe, not too heavy & easy to use. There is a great resale shop that has them up in Boulder. (I sold my double to them). Don't buy new - too expensive, can get good deals with resale shops, craigs list or ebay.

I disagree with the others. I hated my front and back stroller. We went with the Combi Twin Sport. It cost a little more than I wanted, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. You could probably get one used and in good condition for a good price. It fits the the doors on any building that is up to code, even the handicapped bathroom stall. I love it. I find it easier to get through a store, etc. since it is so easy to handle. I can even push one handed. Our model does not have cup holders, but I'm sure they make them that do. The other one we looked at, but was a bit wider and had trouble in some doors is the Jeep side-by-side. I have two friends who love theirs, but having borrowed on once, I think mine was well worth the extra money.

I am the proud owner of 5 strollers--I just got a new side by side by inglesina, and I LOVE it. I have traveled with it on airplanes etc. and its awesome. i can push with one hand and it turns on a dime and is really lightweight. I haven't met a door I cant get through. That being said, it was not cheap--around $200 but maybe you can find a used one in that brand. I also have a tandom (front and back) by Kolcraft and it is AWFUL. its hard to push, turn, fold and its soooooo heavy. my two year old is also almost too big for it. I would not recommend a tandom at all! My boys are about the same age as yours, 6 months and 2 1/2. Before you buy one, make sure you measure the width so you get one that can fit through doors. I also can't wait to get out of the cold weather and take walks again! and oh-check albeebaby.com.

Be sure to check out Freecycle in Gallatin Valley.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/freecyclegallatinvalley/ It just requires you to have a yahoo email and is a great way to get or get rid of stuff that someone else could use, for free! I bet you could find a stroller on there.

Check the local baby consignment shops in your area. I found an In-Step double-jogger for $70 at one in Denver. It hadn't sold immediately, so the store owner cut the (already very discounted) price in half! You could also try craiglist, amazon.com or e-bay for used joggers.

R., take a look on ksl.com, in the baby section they ALWAYS have reasonably priced strollers. You can also put out a request for one on that site and I bet you get a response! Also, I've had both the side by side and tandem strollers and you are right to want the side by side. THey are much easier to push. The only drawback to them is you can't go between racks at the mall! good luck.

hi. i had a great, inexpensive side-by-side. i believe the brand was kolcraft (not sure of spelling). it was basically a double umbrella stroller. i purchased it from target 3 years ago...also saw it at kmart. $50. i have twins and it was an awesome light-weight stroller. easy to get in and out the trunk. i did take them on walks in it, but not on rough terrain. hope that helps.

I'm not sure where you live, but I was planning on selling mine at the Seredipity Sale at Budweiser Event Center next weekend, March 7th and 8th. If you are in Fort Collins and would want to see it before hand, I can make arrangments. It is a double umbrella stoller w/ baskets underneath, in very good condition. Let me know and I can email you pictures later today.

I don't know about the best stroller as there are many new ones out there, but I did want to suggest one that is not side by side b/c there are so many places that it won't fit Some sidewalks are not too wide and in the mall there are so many people. I know the idea of side by side is more fun for the kids, but I really liked the tandem one alot. good luck and have fun! S.

Do not get a side by side, very few public places give you enough room to use it. Get one that has the seats behind each other. I got one when my son was born at a garage sale, it was fabulous, it was a Graco and worked with the infant carrier and then when my son got old enough he could sit in it. They aren't cheap unless you get one at a consignment store or garage sale. Try even Craigs list in your area. The side by sides are bulky, you cannot go in most stores with them and even at places like the zoo are too wide for a lot of things.

I love my double stroller and bought it at babys r us. One suggestion about the side by side stroller, it's the one I have. If you do most of your shopping with your kids, like I do, they are a nightmare in most stores!! I went Christmas shopping out at the new Centerra Mall and I couldn't fit through most of the aisles in most of the stores. I had to leave several of them before even looking around, they are also difficult to fit through doors without a little assistance. I love mine for going on walks, going to the zoo etc., it's just kind of hard when your out shopping.

I have one for sell. I paid $85 and I'm selling it for $60. It is nearly brand new, and I have loved it. It is a Jeep Wrangler All-Weather Twin Umbrella Stroller. It reclines for newborns, and each side holds up to 35 lbs. I live in Salt Lake City.

Have you tried Craig's list? they will be used, but that does not necessarily mean they are not still in great condition. Also stores like Kid to Kid or Other Mothers, you can even call in advance to see if they have any strollers that might work for you. Also, I love the thrill of the hunt at garage sales, the weather is warming up and they will be starting up soon. If you go to the neighborhood garage sales, you get alot of houses close together, someone has got to be selling a double stroller at some of those. Plus you can find lots of cute baby clothes while you are at it. Good Luck!

I just saw one at the DI. I would search there and spray them down with bathroom foam disinfectant and hose it down. I have a tandem and I love it sometimes and I hate it sometimes I would like to have tried both kinds. but I Am happy with not having to buy mine so I won't complain.
my in-laws bought mine when thay found out about our twins.
I would worry about the weight differential in a side by side so test them before you buy. you don't want to pay to walk in circles.LOL just kidding.

Look for a used maclaren. They aren't that cheap, but they are lightweight and you can usually use just one hand even for turns. Combi is almost as good, but a little heavier.

I love the jeep brand stroller Amy S talked about. I bought mine from Amazon.com It's taller than a normal umbrella stroller, has larger wheels, and folds easily. It's the narrowest side by side stroller I've found. It's fit through every doorway I've tried. (If it's a tight squeeze, I go in backwards.) I hang my diaper bag over 2 of the 3 handles when I need it.
My kids are 18 months apart. They LOVE being next to each other on walks. I plan to use it for my twins this summer.

I have a side by side stroller by CHICCO. It's been very nice to keep 2 of my 3 kids contained when out and about. It is an umbrella style - collapses all the way down - which is great for fitting in the car! Both seats recline all the way back too, and you can click up the foot rest - that has come in handy so many times! It comes with a rain/sun shield that is removable and a full plastic rain cover that you could totally encapsulate your kids if you were walking in the rain. I honestly have never used the full rain shield, but hey, it's there anyway. I really like that they sit side by side (no one has to be in the back staring at the back of the stroller - they both get to look out and explore). I live in Montana and we don't have sidewalks near our house, so this stroller has only been used when going to the big town or taking family trips. I'm actually going to sell it on E-bay shortly here. But, hey, if you want to research CHICCO and you'd like to buy it directly from me, let me know. I only used it for 2 seasons (and again only on trips), so it's still in great shape! Happy hunting.

You could try craigslist.org.
You could also sign up at freecycle.org (there are groups in Denver, Aurora, and other places) - and after offering something yourself, you can post that you want a stroller -- you may be lucky and get one for free. It's a great forum.
