Stroller Type Needed for Trip to Italy

I'm looking for recommendations on a stroller to bring to Italy for our upcoming trip. My son weighs 40 lbs. We will be doing alot of walking in cities and he does not have the stamina to go long periods(over an hour). I thought an umbrella stroller or small jogging stroller would be nice but it needs to be able to perform well on cobblestone streets and turn well. Anyone have any ideas on types and where to find them? I'd consider used.

What can I do next?

Get a stroller made for the beach or mountains!!! Most have giant (10 inch) tires and will do well on more rugged terrain.

Mountain Buggy - Urban Elite 2007 Single Stroller (google it)

MiaModa Energi Stroller - Light Blue (available at Target.com)

Tike Tech ATX Jogger Stroller Canyon Orange (also available at Target.com)

I hope this helps. I was never as fortunate to be able to go to Italy when the kids were small...now they are all but grown. But these types of strollers really helped out on the beaches.

We lived in Italy for a year. So I am going to say NO to the umbrella stroller. The jogging stroller is nice but it will not fit into lots of places. Look for a stroller with big wheels that have the ability for all 4(or more) wheels to turn. Think Compact like the cars, yet durable & comfy for your son! We used Peg Perego, the same stroller any Italian will recommend. Have a wonderful trip!

Yes, D. you can purchase a stroller/umbrella type from a Home/Dissability/Rehabilitation type drugstore. We purchased one four years ago for our daughter for the same reason as yours. It traveled really well as it was foldable and not bulky, and it did very well in the cobblestones streets of Madrid, Italy, Greece and many others. It did cost around 119.00 in PA. We traveled to the European countries and South America for my business. After our daughter passed away we gave it to another family in need.

I will try today to look back into our files and see where was it that we purchased it and if they have a website.

A little about me: I am a Christian wife/mother/grandmother of 5 young adults now and 4 grandchildren. We travel immensely with our home based business. This site is great because it gave us a great opportunity to have a tree planted in Memory of our beloved daughter Melinda. I hope this helps take care J. D
