Stretching during pregnancy is a good thing. I did yoga until the day before my last baby was born. I was literally in yoga class having early labor contractions :)

As long as you are doing something that doesn't feel uncomfortable to you, I wouldn't worry about it.

Stretch. It is great for you and the baby and will make labor easier. Totally safe. Just don't over do it.

S.,
I worked out til the day I gave birth. At the end of my pregnancy I only did water aerobics but before that I worked out 3 or 4 times a week. My son is now 20 years old 6'2" tall perfectly health, played sports all through high school and let me tell you there was no delay or development problems. From the day he was born i swear he never stopped growing til he was 19 years old. My OB said working out really helped my delivery, I had only 3 hours of labor and quick delivery. Good Luck,

If you are talking about your uterine muscles tightening, this is called Braxton Hicks contractions and are completely normal. If you are voluntarily stretching, there is no harm in that, either.

Are you doing this on your own or involuntarily? I am confused as what is happening to tell you what it is. Is this your 1st pregnancy? I work as a childbirth educator and labor assistant, so I can let you know if it is normal or not if you go into a little more detail.
