I AM 46 YEARS OLD AND WHEN i WAS YOUNGER AND HAD TERRIBLE STRETCH MARKS i RUBBED OLIVE OIL ON THEM. i HAVE NO STRETCH MARKS AT ALL TODAY AFTER HAVING 2 CHILDREN AND 3 PREGNANCIES.
Any good crems/oils/lotions out there for helping with the discoloration of purple stretch marks?
I am using the Aveda Enbrightenment Correcting Serum. I started using it right away after my delivery (4 weeks ago) and I have noticed some fading, for best results they say to use consistently for 8 weeks. I think this will help pull the discoloration out, if not Ill try a product from Sophora. Thanks for your suggestions!

I used Emu Oil. It didn't get rid of my stretch marks by any means (if you find THAT miracle cure PLEASE tell me!), but it deffinately helped to speed up the healing process, soothe my stretched/sore skin and decrease the purple/red color. More than anything....it's just going to take time! I promise, they WILL fade! I had HORRIBLE stretch marks after my first pregnancy, so bad that I was in tears over them and they HURT, but they really have faded quite a bit and are really more of a silvery color now. Try the Emu Oil....it can't hurt and it's really good for your skin. Good Luck!
I kept cocoa butter on my tummy and thighs during pregnancy and really had only two small stretch marks in the end. Mederma can help reduce the appearance but they will start to fade out since you just had a baby. Cocoa butter will help with the elasticity of the skin too.
Give it some time the purple hue will fade. I have a few only around my belly button and they went from purple to skin toned and are not that visible, not to mention I don't wear a bikini any longer! :) Good luck and CONGRATS
Hi A.,
If you'd like to try a NATURAL way to reduce stretch marks Lavender and Helichrysum are phenomenal for stretch marks. It's important to use a high quality oil with no fillers, that why I recommend this site..... https://www.poweredbyforevergreen.org/Shop/catalog.aspx?c...

Hi A.,
Congrats on Baby!!! Once you have stretch marks you will always have them. But it is OK. ;0)
2 great poducts to help reduce the appearance of the stretch marks is Arbonne's RE9 Body lotion & serum (they work together) and FC5 skin conditioning oil. They help to turnover skin cells. So the old skin cells are sloughed off & new fresh cells appear. Work on the stretch marks now before they turn silvery or white.
Enjoy baby :0).
i found vitamin E oil very helpful, but couldn't stand the vegetable oil smell. i just got mine at walmart, but maybe a health food store would have one in a different base or with a different scent? i tried squeezing the stuff from the vitamin E capsules too but it was sticky and hurt my c-section scar because it pulled at my skin when i put it on. but even my doctor was impressed with how fast my scars were healing when i was putting vitamin E on.
I tend to always go the natural route and really enjoyed the post from Lori B. There is one product out there that is unfortunately not natural, but works. It is called Strivectin and is very expensive, over $100 I think, but maybe that has changed. But, it works! It is for use after the baby is born like in your situation. It is usually sold in GNC.
anything with herbs is just going to work faster.

best of luck, and congratulations!
Mary Kay has a great cream called Visibly Fit. it helps to constrict the blood vessels and makes them appear lighter and thinner. Let me know if you'd like to try some on a test panel for 2 weeks. www.marykay.com/rschreiner
Mary Kay has a cream called Visibly Fit that is amazing! It is guaranteed to work, or you can get your $ back! My mom had such bad blue veins on her feet, used one bottle (you need to massage it in well) and her feet now look normal!!! Try it! www.marykay.com/pjlancaster
I got really bad stretch marks the last month of my pregnancy. I used vitamin E, cocoa butter, you name it! Anyway mine were really dark but now my daughter is a year old and they have almost completely faded. You can barely see them now. So I would try to use creams, but give it time, they may fade. It probably depends on your type of skin. I have also heard strivectin works great on stretch marks and wrinkles. I plan on getting some. Congrats new mommy!
