Stretch Marks - Lawton, OK

I got stretch marks with both my girls, even worse with my second because she was bigger. I'm not sure if anything will actually help prevent them. I think it has a lot to do with heredity. But if anyone knows of something actually works I would love to know. I'm worried since I'm having a boy I will definitely get bigger. I tried Bio-oil and I think I was allergic to it. It make my old stretch marks turn red. I started back using tummy butter by Palmer's and the redness went away but I'm not sure it if will help prevent the stretch marks once I get bigger. I used cocoa butter with my second daughter and it didn't help. Any ideas?

Thanks,
H.

I used St. Ives Collegen Elastin with both of my kids and I didn't get any stretch marks on my stomach. I know that it works because I did get a few stretch marks on my back and I didn't use the lotion on my back. You can buy it at most stores and it's inexpensive.

I don't know if any oils will work or not but what I did was someting I learned in massage school to help increase skin elasticity. You kinda loosly pinch youir skin at the top of your belly with your thimbs on top and your fingers on bottom and then walk your fingers all the way down to the bottom of your belly (obvioulsy) picking up new skin with your fingers and letting it slide back out behind your thumbs. I hope you get what I'm saying... it's kinda hard to describe I guess but it worked for me for both of my pregnancies and I had my girls just 1 year apart!

Your right most of it just gentics. But keeping hydrated, try to avoid rapid weight gain with a healthy diet and keeping your skin hydrated. Massaging prone areas to help with circulation.

I used the baby oil gel. Right after I got out of the shower I would rub my belly with it. I tried to do this twice a day.

I had the BIG belly when I was pregnant. I barely have strecth marks, although I really think it was genetics.

Hi H.,

Congrats on the new baby coming! I wish I had a really good suggestion for you but I seen a couple of people on here were suggesting Vitamin E Oil. I tried that when I was pregnant with my son and it didn't help at all. I have heard extraordinary claims from this company called Trilastin that is supposedly supposed to work on treating existing stretch marks (it was on the Tyra show) but I have yet to try it. I hope you find something that works and if you do let me know. By the way if you are looking to do something from home during your pregnancy check out my site. I am working from home myself partime. It may not be for you but just thought I would let you know. www.TheBestDecisionEver.com. Good luck!

I didnt get any stretch marks until my 9th month, but then BAM! I was using lotions to keep my skin hydrated, but Im pretty sure the genetics were the key role in me getting them. I have found that Palmer's Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks worked better than any of the other products I tried (including the Avon stretch mark cream) at reducing the color and depth of the marks I developed. Good luck!!

I don't think you can prevent stretch marks...but you can relieve the pain and itchiness by using the cocoa butter and other good creams on them. It all really depends on the elasticity in your skin--and that's genetic. There's not a cream or lotion out there to help increase the elasticity :(

I read early on that you need to put lotion on within the first 2 minutes of getting out of the shower. After that your pores close back up and it doesn't do much good. I had a boy and used a lotion from this company my family orders household products through called Melaleuca. It's the best lotion in the world for dry and cracked skin. It also reduces the appearance of scars. I had a boy and got pretty big in the last 2 months and didn't get any stretch marks, but I was religious with putting on lotion as soon as I got out of the shower.

Hi H., I use "Mother's Special Blend" from my local health food stores(Akin's or Wild Oats). It is a mixture of vitamin E, almond oil, and a few other things. It feels really good to put on, especially if someone else is doing it! I know that I have checked into a lot of products, and some of them can't be used during pregnancy(due to absorption through the skin), so be sure to check the label! I got a few stretch marks during my second preg. and when I was finished breastfeeding, I used a generic version of the product Strivectin. I got it at Walgreen's and it was amazing! It faded my stretch marks so they are barely visible. It can't be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Hi. When I was pregnant with my son I used a cream that seemed to really work! I used to buy it at the Maternity (Motherhood?) shop at Towne West. I can't remember the exact name of it but it was in a small bottle and it was white. It worked great for me. Although it was a little pricey as I remember.

I have to say...I'm in a similar situation. I have two daughters, a 9 year old, a 6 year old, and I'm expecting a baby boy in 6 weeks. I had terrible stretch marks from the first two girls, but so far so good with this baby.

A friend in the company I work with recommended one of our products to me, and I've been putting it on faithfully. I can't tell you for sure if it's the product I'm using, or if I'm already stretched out...but I don't seem to be getting new marks. This cream is formulated with specific botanicals to support the collagen and elastin in the skin.

Here's a link to read a litte about it. https://www.arbonne.com/products/not-so-basic/skin/specia...

If your interested in trying it, I'm happy to show you how to sign up to receive a 35% discount or how to get this product free with a purchase of the baby care products. There is also a 45 day money back guarantee, so if you don't love it, you won't be stuck with it.

About wanting to get into a different job, I'd love to speak to you about what I do. This business has blessed me in many ways, but the biggest gift is that I get to stay at home with my two girls and work from home with this pregnancy.

Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy and growing family!

When I was pregnant with my son, my mother got me a lotion from Avon (4 years ago it was in a purple bottle) that was made specifically for pregnant women and stretch marks. It worked well for me.

Below is the information I found on the web for it.
