I think it's a wonderful gift. I live out side of town too on a huge piece of property and wish someone one would give me a street sign!
I was looking for some ideas for the in-laws for christmas and I came across a street sign. It looks like an actual street sign that you would see through town and you can name it whatever you want, like "Lopez Lane" for example. My in-laws live out of town on kindof an acreage with about 10 houses in the area. Does the street sign sound like a stupid idea or would it be a great christmas gift? I don't want to buy them something that might sound stupid or childish. Thanks for the help

i think if you put something sentimental on the sign.. like grandma and gramdpa lopez lane.. or something like that.. or the best grandma and grandpa lane.. ... maybe that would be nice..
I think it sounds like a very fun gift idea. Allison suggestion of making it more personalized is great too! :)
It sounds like it is really a cute idea, especially if you make it more personal, as was suggested earlier.
I'd say it depends on your in-laws and their tastes. If they're into collectibles, flea markets, and more down-home types of things then a street sign is a great personalized gift. But if they are the type with expensive tastes and are into the finer things, then I'd pick something else.
If it's hard to buy them things, you could also consider a food gift like something from Harry & David. They have a gift tower that's very nicely packaged for like $50. I got it for my MIL on her birthday and she loved it.
I think a street sign is a cool idea!

if its something you think they will like then go for it! Another "sure" gift is an order from Omaha Steaks. Everyone loves it!
