Strange Facebook Question

Is there some new trend to use some old picture of yourself as your profile picture or are a fair few of my facebook friends going through some messed up midlife crisis?

My one cousin has her wedding picture, she was married 22 years ago. Another couple of friends have college pictures, they are around my age, between 40 and 50. I will give you they are not aging well but what the heck is going on?

Yeah I can't sleep. :(

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

My husband is snoring, I am tired of kicking him. I figure I will hit a point and fall over, then the snoring won't bother me. This is kinda nuts considering I have a really comfy guest bed. :-/

Ya know Momma, I thought about that except no reunions and my cousins anniversary was in April. Nope, I really think they done lost it.

People will post photos of their high school pics around reunion time, so they can reunite and remember who each other prior prior/right after a high school reunion. The wedding photo is usually because of their wedding anniversary.

Every once in a while a status update will go through that has everyone change their profile picture to their high school photo. Or wedding photo. Or celebrity look alike. Or favorite cartoon character. The possibilities are endless. I just keep my profile pic the same. Makes things easier on me. :)

There are always "games" that go around on FB.

One week it will be your favorite cartoon character from when you were a kid, the next week it will be Father's Day and everyone will have a picture of their dad as their profile pic.

One week in May it was post your high school graduation pic to show others what you looked like on that day, it was May, graduation was kind of the theme.

In June it was your wedding photo to remind us of June weddings. There is always some "game" going on. Maybe your friends are not posting the "game" post to you but are playing it because some other friend suggested that particular game.

The last one I read was last week and it was put a picture of you and your daughter or son to show your appreciation for a wonderful child.

My aunt has a pic I posted of her that was taken when she was around 17....she's in her 60's. The only pictures she has of herself are the ones I post, because she doesn't know how to upload them.
I have another friend who constantly posts pictures of her in the 90's, and she's got to be in her mid 40's now. Her face looks the same, but you can tell by the hair. I believe her reason is due to weight gain and her being unhappy with her current weight.
I guess some just have their reasons, and others play those FB games. I like to post current, or semi current pictures of myself. That may have something to do with my recent weight loss though lol.

Ha! I just noticed it too. I had the idea just recently to see if my hubby's ex had a facebook page, just to snoop around. I almost threw up because she had this picture of herself from when she was about 16. Ewwww. Let me just say she definitely does not look like that now, lol. I cannot figure out why on earth she would want to do this, but I can't figure out why she does most the things she does anyway. The midlife crisis thing might be right. She had all these cutesy sayings and things, which were exactly the same things her 19 and 21 year old daughters have on theirs! Let me tell you it was a laugh riot, but pathetic at the same time.

It seems like a lot of people are looking for high school friends or whatever so they post older pictures. Some people even have school pictures in their albums as well. I accidentally have a really old picture because someone tagged me in a summer camp picture and I never bothered to change it. I could also see putting a wedding picture so people would get to see it who missed the real event.

Maybe they jus want to remember the good ol days! Im fat now, well fatter than I've ever been and I don't want everyone I went to school with to see my fatness so I choose pics of my husband and me that are close ups, nothing below the shoulders:) if it makes them feel good then no biggie! Hope you got some sleep!

If it is a birthday or anniversary sometime people will put up a picture to share that love with people.

The throw back pictures, well sometimes there are posts going around facebook that people feel on doing and posting a pic of whatever it is talking about (fav cartoon character, HS pic, daughter week, sister week and so on).

Other times they will just put up one that will make them look good :)
