my daughter is 6 year old. For a year know she lays down and moves like she is having sex and sweats a lot. My husband and I are very concern about this. Do I have to make an appointment with her doctor and discuss the issue.
I would call the pediatrician and at least ask them what they think. Have you asked your daughter why she does this? Could she be masturbating or is there any chance she's been molested or witnessed anything inappropriate?
Absolutely. It doesn't hurt to get a professionals opinion.
She is masterbating. There is nothing wrong with this...just tell her that it is for private time only. You don't need to be concerned. Just explain that what she is doing is private and she is not to do it in front of other people. It is very normal for many children to learn how to masterbate by young ages (3, 4, 5)...we just don't talk about it in our society, so perhaps you did not realize that. Don't make her feel bad or strange for doing this.
My daughter is 5 1/2 and since she was maybe 3 has liked to roll on things. She gets very sweaty and yes it looks like she is having sex with her sippy cup sometimes. I have told her not to do it while we are talking to her and have asked her why she does it. She used to say it made her tired and helped her go to sleep. I guess all the moving does that but now she says it feels good. It is very normal for kids to experiment right now. It isn't gross and it's not usually to deep, it just feels funny. I wouldn't worry but then again she shouldn't do it in front of people.
She needs to be told that this is private time and she needs to go to the bedroom to do this. If you see her doing this you might simply say Honey, go play in your room for a while, you look tired or something....
It isn't strange. She is stimulating herself. You need to talk to her about doing that in private.
