I have two girls and we live in a 1940s hose with not big closets ect.. I admit I am sentimental and like to save items.. My youngest is 5 years old.. Her room is really tiny.. It fits a single bed, dresser, and a toy bin. She has storage drawers under her bed but they are filled. Right now she has way too many stuffed animals on her bed.. We went and gave to Goodwill. We are not quite ready to part with these.. Would u put them up for awhile? Do u think spacebags are a good way store them? I was looking online at the container store.. Thank you for your help.. In general I am struggling with small space and storage ideas.. For toys and clothes.

How about a back of the door hanger of some kind? or the hammock is probably the best bet for small spaces. We limit to one large basket, and if it gets too full, i thin them out when no one's looking!
We have those stuffed animal nets form Toys R Us, I think Walmart has them too.
They work great.
The stuffed animal net has been great for my son. We put it in the corner of his room about his bed. It's out of the way. He can reach it and play with what he wants. And if we take the time to rearrange, it displays them all. My daughter had too many dolls and stuffed animals. The net wasn't big enough. She uses these dolls and animals on a regular basis, so getting rid of them wasn't really an option either. So I made a larger net. All I did was took an old sheet that matched her room and cut it down to a large square. I folded the square on the diagonal to make a large triangle, hiding the cut edge. I gathered the corners and secured with zip ties. I screwed hooks in the wall and hung up the corners with the zip ties. It took less than 30 minutes and I used stuff on hand. Just like her brother, my daughter's in hung in the corner of the room over her bed. It's been the perfect solution for us.
We bought a bunk bed for our daughter's small space and tossed all her stuffed animals on the top bunk. She goes up there to play with them often and it keeps them off the floor and out of the rest of the house where they used to migrate to prior to having a home of their own.
When I get the build up of things that I just can't seem to part with I watch an episode of Hoarders (no I am not calling you a hoarder). It just helps me put things in perspective. My kids have watched some episodes with me so they do not want a house like that so they decide to get rid of things they don't need. Maybe not right away but really makes them think.
But if a storage solution is what you want I think of shelves lining the wall a foot shy of the ceiling.
I bought a small corner "hammock" in which we put all the stuffed toys. It kept them in their corner until one or another was wanted. At night they "slept" in the hammock.

Get some Space Bags - vacuum out all the air. Voalla! You can buy those or similar vacuum bags at Walmart.
If you can sew, you can make "Bean bag" covers with zippers or just velcro fasteners, and use the stuffed animals to fill them. Decorate their room and let them ly on the plush "bean bags". When they want a toy, all they have to do is open the bean bag and grab a stuffed toy."

I got some plastic crates & carefully put the animals I can't part with in the crate. I donated (very hesitanty) the rest to at Christmas time...the local store does this 'toy drive' & I took some there. I REALLY wanted to keep all my animals b/c they all have sentimental value...either b/c of the person who gave it to me, etc. but I know I had to tell myself...what really am I gonna do w/all these animals?! We don't have kids & my neice/nephew are BRATS & I know won't take care of them or appreciate them so I donated the ones I didn't want & kept the rest by putting them away in a plastic crate; I still have them but they're not so much in the way now so maybe that will help you. Yes, I'd just put them up and see if she misses them. Spacebags is a good idea. Haven't tried it but seems like it would work fine. Stuffed animals are tough to store. Irregular shapes and sizes...
I would use space bags. Or you can buy a stuffed animal hammock and hang it in the corner of the room and put them up in that, it is $11 at bed, bath, and beyond :)

This was a cool idea for small toys or clothes that you could put in bins or on the hooks. A ton of stores sell them for wayyyyy less than the price of this one :)

Not sure about the storage options but I do suggest to toss them in the dryer (no heat) to get the dust off them before you store them.
