Stomach Flu in Babies

So my husband & I battled the stomach flu yesterday, in addition to having colds. To say the least it was awful. There was more than one moment that I hoped for death.
My sitter just called to say that my son just had a diaper that exploded and then he vomited. Daddy is on his way to go get him now. Is there anything we can do for my little man? Besides trying to keep him hydrated? Is there anything that a 10month old can take to make him feel better? We have left a messge at the peds office but that could be hours before we get a call back. Thanks

What can I do next?

Make everything as easy clean up as possible..for your sanity...and the more you over prepare...the less it actually happens I have found...

I keep extra trash bags and boxes for this reason. Line the chair you snuggle him in, with towels and throw a trash bag under you....this way if things get messy...you have less to clean..and the better chance you have of kicking the bug out....

I line a box or bin with three trash bags so I just pull the messy one up when it is dirty.

Nice thing is most bugs can run there course in 24 hours. make sure you are trying to get him to sip some type of electrolyte.

Hang in there mama. This is the worst:(

Snuggles and 100% of everything Mamatothreewee suggested (fantastic advice, momma!). Teaspoons of pedialite can help too. It will end soon, poor little guy. Good luck, momma!

Check with your Baby's doctor. And call them back too.
In babies/children, they can have different symptoms.
And yes, dehydration can occur.

LITTLE amounts of fluid at a time.

I would take him to the Doctor anyway.
Nurse on-demand, or the Formula if you are doing that.

You can always call the 24 hour nurse hotline, and they will tell you what you can do, and if you should come in right away or not. They are always helpful.

Poor baby, sorry he is sick :( Hope that he has a quick recovery! In the meantime, lots of fluids and cuddles from Mom and Dad.

Nurse, nurse and nurse some more. Your body is making antibodies for this exact virus/infection and you can directly deliver them to your baby for a MUCH speedier recovery. And it will keep him hydrated better than anything else.

You could also look into homeopathics for extra, yet completely safe help. And you can also take chamomile tea or another safe tea to deliver through your milk. Good luck!
