okay my mother just had the gastric bypass, wich is not the same, but on the same basic principal. they band your stomach and then you loose some, and they go in and tighten the band and you loose some more. i'm overweight, like everyone else in the world is......lol.....i talked to her doctor about banding because i was scared of the gastric bypass, he advised me that it should be a last resort, it is a fairly new procedure and a lot of things can go wrong, not saying they will, but they CAN. as with any procedure of course. he said any good doctor will put you on a diet and if you smoke they will make you stop smoking before going through this procedure. you will be on a very strict diet for a little over a year, and if you can stay on it for a year and do exactly what the doctor suggests then you may qualify for the procedure. you have to loose a certin amount of weight so they know you are serious about this, and not being lazy to loose weight fast. the diet is very strict, but it works so well............if you do decide to go to a doctor and takl to him about it, and he says okay lets do it, i would be very scared, because i'd want a doctor like my mothers, worried about my health and my state of mind before doing elective surgery on me. i'd want to take it slow and know everything there is to know about it.
thats all i have for advice for you. just be careful. and three months is nothing at all........i have lost over 100 pounds just walking over the last two years.............and none of the weight has come back. thats 50 punds a year....its not a fast process.......... the faster you loose weight, at the end of your dieting process you will gain it back with more punds to add..........so do your research before you do anything drastic to your body.
