They can go in the washer - at least I have been able to wash my family's gloves that way. I would sprinkle some talc in them after they are dry. And have your son put powder on his hands before he wears them.
Hi Ladies. I am hoping that you can help me. My son has a pair of winter mittens that are nylon and polyester. The inside seems more like fleece material. The problem is the inside of the mittens smell horrible and cause my son's hands to smell. He says that his hands get sweaty when he wears the mittens. I cannot read on the tag if they can go in the washing machine and I don't know how to clean them and make them smell better. Does anyone know if these can go in the wash or should it be by hand? I would like his hands to be warm when he is playing outside without the horrid smell.
Thank you so much.
Thanks for the advise. I decided to soak my son's mittens in vinegar water for a day and then rinsed them out and let air dry. They smell much better. I will probably have to do this again in the future or throw them in wash.

They can be washed or you can hand wash them let them soak for a while with a reg. load & add a bit of white vinegar
I would throw them in the wash, if it is not leather I throw the mittens/gloves in the wash.
They can go in the washer. Turn them inside out when you wash them so the stinky inside gets washed really good, also add some borax to the load, it deoderizes. Since they are Nylon and Poly outside I would hang them to dry. Good luck !!!
Handwash them at night inside out so that they will be dry the next morning, you may have to do this every night, and use a power that absorbs moisture that is safe if he should put his hands into his mouth, Hope this works for you.
Before you try any other cleaners try Kids n Pets - they have it at Target with the laundry supplies.
It works best if you use it as a first resort rather than last resort. Throughly soak with it then allow to completely dry. Then I guess you could wash by hand or the washer. Great stuff and handy to have around.
(It's indispensable around my house for smells and potty training and stains, ect)
sprinkle a bit of baking soda in them
