Talk to your doctor, but most likely it's all hormones. My hair is much thinner than before I had kids and I still get the "baby hairs" by my hairline... which means it is either still falling out or finally growing in. And my youngest is 8!

hi R.
Please get a full check up. Could this be hormonal in nature? Are you lacking the hormones that you had during pregnancy?
Please see a dr that is open to bio-identical hormones if needed. But definitely get a check up with your internist and or gyno. just to be sure.

Hi R.,
I had the same problem! And also, I didn't have lots of hair to begin with. This lasted about a year and a half for me. I tried everything. I got my hair cut really short (in case it was from split ends), I took hair vitamins, tried numerous shampoos, changed my diet, went to a doctor AND dermatolgist. After spending too much money that I didn't have, I never found out how to stop it. But it did stop finally. Unfortunately my hair is not what it used to be.
At any rate, you definitely have to see your doctor just to make sure it is not a thyroid imbalance which can happen esp. after having a baby. Once you rule that out, maybe you can try some of the above .... it may work for you. Good Luck to you.

I was in a similar situation and I ended up having a tyroid issue and had to be on medicine for a year to get it back to the way it should be, my symptoms also were weight loss and being extremely tired. A simple blood test from your doctor will be able to tell if you are losing hair from the baby, or other issues.
Good luck!

Hi, I would like to know this too! My daughter is almost 10 months old, and I AM still losing mine! It is driving me nuts!
I have a 6 month old and the same problem. My hair stylist recommended using Niaxin products. You can buy them at Ulta. I've just started them myself, so I can't tell you how good they are yet. I have no idea how long this lasts, but it hope it's over soon. My daughter likes to pull my hair too, and it comes out by the fistful.
You should ask your doctor to check your thyroid. Low thyroid can cause your hair to fall out.
Hi R.,
I can completely relate, but try not to worry too much. Every mom goes through this starting anywhere from 4 months after your baby's birth and can continue up to and even past 11 months (from what I read and from friends and family). Be assured that your hair will grow back and your bald spots and/or receding hairline will grow back. Your personal nutruition also works into your hairloss and hair regrowth, so stay as healthy as possible.
Having a short hairstyle during this time helps. Hope this reassures you.
