I know I've posted already but I thought I'd try again! I'm looking for childcare (hopefully an in home) for my 2 year old son in anywhere from Eden Prairie to St Paul. I'm not originally from the area so any recommendations that anyone has for a great in home daycare would be appreciated! I've found one that I'm interested in but because of the somewhat odd hours I need, we would be considered full time so it works out to be almost $8/hr which is almost what I paid with my nanny. If anyone knows of anyone willing to do M/W 10:00-4:00, T/TH 7-12:30 and F 10:00-1:00 PLEASE let me know! Or even if it's a full time spot that would cost less than the one I'm looking at!

Thank you once again!!

Have you tried looking through MN child care resources? there is a website you can use: http://www.mnchildcare.org/imm_map.php . You could also find out who the liscensor is in your area and start calling them. They are not supposed to give you recommendations, but after MONTHS of searching for a great daycare, and many calls checking on liscenses of providers I was about to interview, I broke down in tears with the liscensor and insisted there MUST be someone whose daycare meets my expectations. She listed off three names and my daughter has been going to one of those providers for a year now. Also, when you call to set up an in-person interview, just ask if they accept part time. They may be more willing to work with you on your hours once they meet you and your child (if it seems to be a good fit for them). ps try craigslist, but be careful. always check their liscense through the county and beware of the providers that post everyday or sometimes multiple times per day. If they have that many spots open and available at all times, there might be a reason...

Sign up for Care.com...it's about $37 for a month, ( and no other fees, like the placement agencies)... you get to do your own search..we did it about a week ago, and have had many responses, ( and we had some rather specific requirements ! ) We and are now interviewing...you get to type in the days, hours, non-smoker etc. and then nannies respond to you...their bios tell you if they are cpr certified etc. and some of them already list their references and what they charge..we're impressed with it. Good luck with the search. Best, KC

Have you tried looking on Care.com? You can look by your zip code to find providers in your area and you can even post a job listing of what you're looking for. I've also found home care providers listed on Craigslist.com.

Good luck!
