Steam Mops - Racine,WI

I'm interested in purchasing a steam mop-probably the SHARK version. I am noticing they are dropping dramatically in price though so wondering if that means they aren't worth the $$.

Anyone have one? We have hardwood and tile and thought it would be ideal especially with the dogs coming and going and two toddlers.

What can I do next?

I have the Shark Pocket Mop as well. I really like it, especially because the floor dries right away & because I am not using any chemicals... important when you have a busy toddler! I don't know that it gets hot enough to really sanitize the floor, but it does a great job getting up the sticky stuff under my son's high chair.

After reading a lot of reviews on Amazon & other websites, I decided to buy mine at Kohl's as they will take anything back any time as long as you have the receipt. I used a 20% off coupon as well, which helped with the cost.

I love mine! It works awesome on my wood floors and tile. My opinion on the price is that it's the supply and demand thing -- not because they aren't worth the money.

We have one, it's not the steam pocket one though, I think that's the newest? I love it, I can't wait to upgrade. We have the handheld steam cleaner too and I use it almost daily.

I have the Shark Pocket Mop - about six months now . LOVE IT! I have three kids - 1 yr, 3 yrs, 5 yrs; a small dog and a husband :-) You can't believe how clean your floors will feel after you use it. Enjoy the price break and go for it - I would highly recommend it.

They have just come out with a newer, better version. The new ones are higher priced but the older model is still good. The new ones swivel and have the pad on both sides. It is a better design, probably from customer feed back that gave suggestions on how to improve them.

I love my shark. It truly is capable of doing what they advertise. I got a new dryer for my birthday in February, the delivery guys were going to haul off my old one so when they called and said they were on coming sometime in the next hour my husband moved my old one on to the deck.

Underneath the old one was a lot of goo where I had mopped and at the edge of the dryer it had packed and dried. I had gotten my Shark for Christmas and had really only cleaned the floor in the kitchen and bathrooms with it. I filled the tank with water and just started to plug it in when my hubby says "They're here". I freaked, I was sure that the goo would not come up without letting the Shark sit on it while I pumped it to get it really steamed and loosened. I started going over it and by the time they got the dryer in my house, less than 5 minutes, it was clean and dry.

I've got it and LOVE it, I'm actually on my 2nd one I use it so much. Works great. I have a dog who is getting on in age and occasionally has accidents it's great on his mistakes, guick and easy to use. When I wear this one out I'll be getting another ASAP.

The one I had wasn't a shark, but the steam loosened up my flooring.

Shark is the best. We have used it since it was first advertised (al least a few years), and it cleans the best. I have actually cultured the spot around my dogs bed,,,and guess what...Clean as clean can be. LOVE IT

I bought the shark, used it once, what a waste of $100. You can do a better cleaning job with a wet swiffer, "steam" really doesn't get the dirt out.

I hated my Shark. It is a poor design. Pressure can only be put right in the center. The outer edges barely contact the floor.
On the recommendation of some other Mamas, I just bought a Hoover Floormate Spin and Scrub.

I purchased a Ninja blender (made by the same company that makes the Shark mops) this year as a Christmas gift, but before buying it I spent some time online researching it. In the process I came across a lot of complaints about the Shark mop, as well as about the company's customer service. Here's a link: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/euro_pro.html

I did still buy the Ninja because the person I bought it for REALLY wanted it. Incidentally, I purchased it online and they charged me for shipping when shipping was supposed to be free. I had to call twice and they assure me the shipping will be taken off my visa bill but that has yet to happen (it's been about two weeks).

My SIL's dad asked for and got a Shark mop for Christmas, and is excited about it, and it seems by your comments here that a lot of people like it, but I thought you should know about the complaints also. Hope this helps.

I have a Eureka Euro steamer and love it. It is especially great for thosesticky messes left by the kids on the floor. I leave the steamer over it for a couple of seconds or so and it comes off. I have a really crappy floor in my kitchen and it has not lifted it off. Of course, it does depend on how long you leave a steamer since it is water. They are coming down in price because there are so many choices now. A friend has the H2O and a coworker cought the Shark after I recommended getting a steamer. They both love them.

We have hardwood floors throughout our house, and I have a 4 yr old, and a 18 month old little boys, and I couldn't live without mine. We have the Shark Steam Mop - the pocket mop, it was the best $100 I ever spent. The steam sanitizes the floor, which is great for little ones who are constantly eating, rolling, licking it ;) Good luck! :)

I love mine! Don't get the base model though. It's a pain only having one side to "mop" with and only one shape to use. I wish I'd spent the extra $20 for the upgraded model.

Best,

We love ours - its the older model, almost 5yo, and we're waiting for 'something' to happen to it so we can justify buying the newer model. Its incredible how it cleans our hardwood, tile/grout and other non-carpet floors. For the first several months, we would re-clean areas to see how clean it really was and steam got everything the first time. We threw away our swiffers and other cleaners (not the vacuum) and recommend it to everyone. Good luck!
