I need advice on how to deal with being a stay @ home mom at her wits end! I have no family out here and all friends live at least 20min. away. Most of my friends dont have families yet, so they are still able to have a life out side of home. I really need to meet someone I can relate to and that I have things in common with. My husband is never home and even when he is he really isn't. It gets really lonely and frusterating being home all the time with no one to talk to or hang out with. I feel like this is a personals ad...lol "Im 26 5'6, brown hair, blue eyes....lol j/k" ANY ONE GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING I AM?

What can I do next?

Hi K.. It's hard when you're "stuck" at home all day with no adult conversation and no friends who you can talk to who have kids. It's even harder when you don't have the support of your husband, so I really feel for you! Have you tried joining a "play group"? They are really great for meeting other moms and having that social interaction that we really crave. I have found some on the internet by doing a search on google, but I don't belong to any of them, so I can't really help you there. There is also a group called MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) that meet at local churches. That might be good for you, you can probably find them on the internet. I actually attend a wonderful Church that has a women's Bible study on Tuesday mornings. They provide childcare. I live in Aurora, so if you are interested in coming to our Bible study, just send me a message and I can give you the information. It starts up again next Tuesday. I hope this helps, and good luck!

Hi K.-

It's so hard when your friends don't yet have kids. Their time is so much different than ours. But, 20 min. isn't bad if you can get out just for a coffee or something! Or when you make some new friends have some play dates at your home or theirs. Adult conversation is important!!

Where are you? I'm in St. Charles, we moved here two years ago and havn't made many friends yet. I am hoping to join a playgroup soon. If your in my area let me know!

Hi K.!
I know just what you mean! And the first year is the roughest. It's a tough adjustment going from working full time to just being with kids all day. It really helps to have a core group to turn to. Which brings me to asking where do you live? I'm moving to Oswego in February from MN. I'm originally from IL, but all my family is far also and friends all work. I would be very excited to meet and see how our kids play! Send me a message if that sounds good to you.
