Static Cling & Leggings

Do any of you have a secret for avoiding skirt cling when wearing leggings? I'm loving this fall weather, starting to wear my summer skirts with leggings and boots but can't seem to figure out how to keep the skirt from creeping in between my legs and riding up a bit. I tried rubbing a dryer towel on the inside of the skirt but it seemed to make things worse. Any tips?

What can I do next?

I spray cling spray on the leggings and inside the skirt when I'm wearing them. It works on all but one of my skirts.

Anti- static spray. They make it for just this problem. Available in supermarkets.

A slip works obviously really well. But I've heard some girls spray hairspray on the inside of the skirt and on top of the leggings to stop static. I personally tried the hand lotion trick, rub a light amount on top of your leggings, it works for a little while but for me the static returned depending on the carpet I was walking on.

Wear a slip between the skirt and leggings? Yeah, I know that it's old-fashioned, but that can really help... just get a half-slip.

Use aerosol hair spray if you find yourself in a fix. My friend carried a travel size in her purse and would just go to the bathroom and spray under the skirt real quick.

DO NOT PULL THE SKIRT AWAY FROM THE LEGGINGS WHILE SPRAYING ANYTHING THOUGH!!! It can catch on fire!

Also if you add fabric softener to the final rinse then also add the dryer sheet to the dryer load it should stop the static cold. Bit in this colder weather static is a real issue for me all winter. I have to purposefully NOT touch metal of I get shocked nearly every time. Also, if you wear a short slip under the skirt that should stop it too.

I agree with Suzie Q. They sell anti-static spray in a not-so-fancy spray can for a couple of dollars. It lasts a long time, smells good but not too perfumy. It's in the laundry aisle near the spray starch. I spray it on my furniture in the winter because otherwise we all go around shocking each other.
