We always have leprechauns visit our house on St Patty's Day Eve. Over the years, they have been pretty bold and some years just a little mischievious (depending on how tired I was that night....LOL!) I'm looking for some new ideas for the leprechauns. In the past, this is what they have done...
1. Colored the toilet water green'
2. Colored the milk green
3. Left green clover confetti around the cupboards, cereal boxes, etc.
4. Made green footprints on the counter
5. Grafitti'd the glass surfaces - mirrors, windows, etc.
6. One year, they poo'd on a plate. (This was my hubby and his friend who was here helping with a basement project. They put green food coloring in some chocolate frosting and piled it on a plate)
7. Stacked up all the green Legos
8. Moved furniture around
We have also made traps for the leprecauns, but with "No luck". LOL! I'm sure I'm forgetting some things, but basically, I'm looking for some new ideas for these naughty little leprechauns
Thanks Moms!!

I read a cute idea a few years back in Family Fun where you can make the little leprechaun trap and it was sprung, but they left some gold coins (those gold foil wrapped chocolates coins). You have to pick the right one, or answer a riddle, or whatever you guys come up with....if wrong, the gold coins all turn to chocolate. I also like the idea a previous poster had about a little shoe in the trap.

What a great idea!! Can you find some shamrocks to leave on the floor in the hall or laying around? Might try to come up with something for them to hunt and find......green eggs or something. Maybe they can leave some green cookies......I know someone who made their dog green......I thought it was terrible......poor thing....it started out white........there's always pots of gold.....maybe you can find a little shoe to leave in one of the traps!
Good luck and it sounds like you are having a wonderful time!!

Too cute! I am going to co-op some of these!!

Playing on what you already have maybe have them leave footprints on the kids faces:) That would be funny! I have deep sleepers and i could totally get away with that!

Or stacking anything and everything green in your house in a pile in the living room?

Or maybe they could leave behind some gold coins (maybe even real gold money) in place of some of the kids stuff?

Do you have a pet? Maybe they could graffiti the dog?

Can't wait to hear other mom's ideas...and to think we only do Green milk and either green eggs and ham OR Lucky Charms!

Hi,
Great ideas..I only wish I would have read them last night! This morning, my daughter woke up to find little green footprints (made from felt) all around the house. They started in her bedroom and led her to 7 or 8 hiding places (inside closet door, under bookshelf, in kitchen cupboard, etc) where little green treats were found. The leprechan left green candy, green socks, green apples, green ponytail holders and such. She had so much fun that she gathered a few items that she knew daddy likes and hid them then placed the footprints accordingly. We also made a game to see who could eat more foods that are green (naturally)..great way to get her to eat her veggies! Hope you had a blast today!

Hi there, you sound like you're really into St. Patrick's Day. You should probably know, then, that you have misspelled it. It's always, always, always spelled St. Paddy's Day with two Ds, not two Ts!! Patty is short for Patricia or something that McDonald's sells while Paddy is short for Patrick, probably stemming from the Irish word for Patrick (Padraig).
As for your ideas, you could try colouring stuff rainbow colours for a change - as in the rainbows under which the leprechauns hide their gold. Arrive at the breakfast table with your face painted green or rainbow coloured, or something like that. I should consult my mischevious two-year-old twin boys for some ideas as they always seem to come up with some unique way of making a mess! Anyway, Happy St. Paddy's Day!
