Tomorrow is the last day of spring break and I want to do something fun with my boys. We are willing to travel a little bit for a fun day trip. Any suggestions? They are 4 1/2 and 2. TIA!

What can I do next?

I just took my kids to the Frisco Fire Safety Town today followed by a picnic in the park and they loved it. They got to crawl all around a fire truck, play outside at the town, meet the firefighters etc. I know you had another suggestion about the Zoo and I would save that for another week besides Spring Break. We went on Tuesday and it was jam packed, so bad that the concessions ran out of everything but coke.

The first thing that comes to my mind is the Zoo... even if you have been there before, what a day full of fun, especially at that age... you could even ride the DART, I'm sure especially for the 4 year old that would be lots of fun. Make a lunch, of course you can buy stuff, but how much fun that would be for them...
Just remember to have fun, I know at that age, the kids want to get there right away so maybe going too far the drive will make them cranky, so that's why I'm suggesting staying around Dallas/Fort Worth area...
Have fun!

Last day hmm, Well if you want to get out of the norm and just get away I would take them to fossil rim in glen rose from Dallas that is a hour and a half drive and it is a drive through animal park my kids love it. It can be a little expensive but well worth the memories half way through the park there is a eating place at the top of the park where you can get burgers and stuff like that to eat. i always took advantage of the state park and would make a camp out of it the camp grounds are like 12 a night and they have showers and if the time is right for the year you can take them down into the river bed where you can look for tracks of dino's. We found one and my kids thought it was neat to lay in them side by side and put their arms up to see how big the dino’s foot was they also have a free museum full of dino stuff, so it is a full weekend full but well worth every penny of it they also had a part of the river that was shallow where you could swim in it by a park somewhere you may have to ask around. My kids are now 13 and 16 and still talk about it so I know they will carry that with them for a long time. The park is about a 3 to 4 hour drive so make sure you carry some snack in the middle of the tour if you don’t plan on eating there at the rim even if that is all you do for a day it is well worth it. Now the prices have change a little I am sure. But have fun.
