slim and none unless you've been married 10 years and the divorce will happen in TX. The only exception to this is if he OFFERS spousal support.
My husband told me to leave 4 years ago we are finally getting a divorce live in different states. Hasent suported me or our children since then. I am thinking about asking for spousal support. What are the chances? Or has anyone ever done this?
FYI: I am going for child support. They go hand in hand in a divorce in Texas apparently. But I was thinking about asking for spousal support just for maybe 1-2 years ....maybe like 300 a month. I dont want much but I do think he owes me for abandoning me.

I am pretty sure that Erika is right. My husband was married before to a lady for 9 years and she was trying to get spouce suport from him (they dont even have kids together) anyway she did not get any because they were not married for a 10 full years. This sounds bad but try to get more child support to make up for it. I do know Texas has tuff laws on child support. Good luck!
In Texas it depends on how long you were married to him. Usually it is 10 years. Also you need to call the Attorney General and give him your husbands social and drivers license so you can get child support for him. They may offer little help b/c he lives in a different state- you'll have to call the Attorney General in his state probably to get any money.

E.,
Google texas attorney general, then on the home page go to child support interactive and fill out an online application. You CAN get child support help from them regardless of where your husband lives because your kids are in texas.
