I was wondering if anyone knows of sports or activities for 4 years olds. He just turned 4 so he is not quite old enough for most of the sports programs out there. If anyones knows of sports teams for that age in the B-CS area I would appreciate it.

What can I do next?

Try T-Ball, it usually starts for kids 3-4 years old, they really just sit around and pick flowers sometimes but it's so fun to watch.

If he rides a bike without training wheels he can ride a bike in BMX, go to amabmx.com to see if there is a track near you. In Yukon Ok. there was a 3 year old boy who came on second the last time we raced there.

Here's a link to the amabmx tracks in Texas, the national bicycle association has tracks too but I am unfamilair with them and don't know their website.

Try gymnastics, he's plenty old enough to enjoy that.

Look into the YMCA for sports clinic/classes. They are a lot of fun and non stressful or competative at this age. We did a Soccer one and it lasted about 6 weeks, once a week and they taught lots of skills while having games and just playing things like kick the ball from this end of the gym to that end and keep it away from the teachers...

I hope you find some wonderful things for him to do. It is so fun to go and watch them learn about sportsmanship and do fun things.

FFPS (fun fair positive soccer) is here in the Houston area - don't know if they're to Bryan yet. They start at 4. I think the Y does too - with allot of other sports....

The Y used to offer a sports class that was a little bit of all sports. They spent a week or two on each sport-soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball. Very good for them to experience some of the choices-then let him decide.
Check around. Even if there isn't a Y nearby, there may be an equivalent class at some of the gyms, etc.

Gymnastics (Powersports, Thunder Elite, Brazos Valley), city soccer starts at 4, little league starts at 5, but some are older 4yo. Upward soccer and basketball (I think those are at Central Baptist). CS flag football (not sure there is a spring option on that one) starts that young.

my son is super excited about 4-5 year old soccer that they have here. we will see - we tried tumbling last year and he hated it. they also have tee-ball for 4 year olds but imo for my son that just requires a bit too much focus and structure lol. for my son, running up and down a field (and maybe, or maybe not, following a ball) sounds more up his alley.

When my first one was that age we did 6 weeks swimming, followed by 6 weeks tumbling/gymnastics. We did this until he could join the soccer teams at 6 or 7ish.

My 4 year old just finished basketball at the local Houston YMCA. He really liked it, maybe check out the Y if there is one nearby.
