i was wondering if I should get the spinal over the epidual this time. with our first i was in labor and had the epidual in place so that what i had . i didn't like being confined to my bed and waiting for it to be removed the next morning. with this one i have to have another section in few weeks and was wondering about pain and spinal block i think it's called. i will have a pump for pain if i get the spinal and if i choose the epidual i can have removed by supper timeish and have orals if i wish or they can turn the epidural back on . i jsut dont like that you cna't move or anything with epidural . what are you experences on the spinal and pain afterwards or both?

What can I do next?

I just had my third c section two weeks ago. I had a spinal and HATED the few hours afterward where I couldn't feel anything, but once it wore off, it was done, so that was great. Moved on to the oral meds then...I had an epidural with my first unexpected c section since I had been in labor first, and if I remember right I feel like there was more pain after the c section and harder to control...maybe the spinal controlled that better because I couldn't feel anything for a few hours...hope this helps, good luck with everything!

I preferred the epidural to the spinal- I was able to wiggle my toes a lot faster with the epidural and the spinal seemed to take forever to wear off! It drives me nuts not being able to move anything!

I had a spinal for my first, and with my second I had an epidural during labor & the c-section. I had a TERRIBLE time with the epidural. I vomited three times in the OR, had horrible cold sweats, very shaky, and just felt awful...too sick to even hold my baby until it has worn off.

The spinal was AWESOME and I will be asking for it when I have my third CS in April. I also think it managed my pain better.

I had a much easier time with the spinal for my repeat C-section. You are briefly paralyzed but when it's over, it's over. At least that was my experience.
