It's not quite spring yet but I am already starting to see some bugs in our basement. What do you use to keep the creepy-crawlys out of your house? Our basement is 1/2 finished and we use it ALOT. I know that most of the bugs that we see aren't harmful but I still don't want to see them lurking. We have two kids and a dog so harsh chemicals/bug bombs are out. I'll take any suggestions - the greener the better.

We live in the country and get lots of bugs too! We spray Ortho Home Defense Max bug spray around the perimeter of the house inside and out and it works like a charm. We usually have to apply 2 times per year.
let your spiders live and they'll take care of the bugs (unless they're poisonous spiders)
You can spray organic pest control around the windows and doors. Peppermint oil works good on some insects because it burns their repiratory tracts.
put out a bird house and bird feeders :)
