T.,
I had the V-closure procedure after my fourth baby was born. They told me not to have any surgery until I was pretty sure I was done having kids because another pregnancy would undo all the work, so don't bother until you are done having kids.
To be honest, I went to a quack in Arkansas so my experience wasn't the best. But he was the only doctor within a 4 hour drive who could do it, so I didn't have much choice. It REALLY hurt (though it isn't supposed to) and everytime I walked for a couple of weeks I felt like my leg was being stabbed with little knives. (In my defense, I do have a pretty high tolerence for pain. 4 deliveries on Pitocin with no pain meds.)
My vericose veins are still noticible, but not nearly as much as they were and my legs don't hurt as much as before I had surgery. If I had gone to a better doctor I think I would have been really happy with the results. I am not sure how much the surgery cost, I think it was a couple grand. My insurance covered it because it was considered medically necessary due to the pain in my legs.
Good luck,
S.
