Hi I.,
I would have thought that the spider bite would gone away in a few days. If he's been scratching at it , the red make maybe a scar. If you're concerned ,I would take him back to the Dr.
my 4 year old got bitten by a spider on his cheek. I took him to the doctor and told me to put neosporyn. It has been 1 1/2 months and the red mark hasn't gone away. What else can I do or put on his cheek to remove the mark. It looks like it went deep because it's taking so long to go away. Any suggestion appreciated. Thank you.

Have it rechecked they might want you to give him benedryl or something like that. I had a spider bite well actually more than one and it made me really sick and the bites didn't go away until I started taking benedryl. As much as I hate medications the benedryl really did help.
i make a paste out of baking soda and water and apply it a few times a day and the bite goes away in two days.
Go to the health food store by Ledum 30c. Give it to your son 4x a day for five days. It is a homeopathic.
Is it swollen and still red? Does it look like a bulls-eye? Is it hot to the touch? If it shows any signs of infection it could be dermatitis. If that's the case then you need to have him rechecked right away and don't wait until Monday.
If it's not showing signs of infection, wait until Monday but still get it looked at.
I don't think there is alot you can do now. If it hurts still you might want to mix baking soda and water. I have cut a potato for bites and that too can suck out the venom. But the thing I love is charchol from the health food store. Also, since it is longer then a month have you looked to see if it is MRSA? MRSA can look like a spider bite and it takes longer to heal. You might want to give your child something to build their immune system. I love Symbucol and it has helped my family with fevers, cold, asthma, gum infection in my mouth, and eye infections. I love this stuff. Good luck.
Has he been back to the doctor for a follow up? It might be worth looking into. Bites do take time to heal, but I would want to get it checked again to see if it is getting better,
Good luck!
The reason it's probably still there is because it's being scratched or rubbed on a daily basis. What four year old can resist scratching an itch even though mom says, "Don't touch!". It's nearly impossible. When you put him to bed, put a bandage on the bite so it can't be accidentally scratched or irritated. Take the bandage off when he's in your sight so it has a chance to breathe and heal.
I had a bite that lasted for nearly that long when I was a teen because I would nervously scratch at it in class, sometimes without being aware of it. My sleeves would also irritate it. It went away after I bandaged it with a tiny dab of neosporin for a few days.
check with your doctor, but what about mederma?? Its for scars--- GL
