Target usually has mac and cheese boxes like that for I think $1 so you could just throw the cheese packet away and use the pasta, it's still pretty cheap.
Mamasand papas
Where do you buy say smiley face pasta or alphabet pasta etc. I don't want to buy canned pasta, but wouldn't mind some fun on a plate. Our supermarkets dont stock these items.

If you haven't checked the mexican aisle of the grocery store, try that, they may have little alphabet pasta. Either that or a mexican market.
Just yesterday I bought some "Apastasaurus" in bulk at Whole Foods (for my 21 yo daughter, no less). It was adorable, dinosaur-shaped pasta. If there's a specialty section of your local grocery store, a Trader Joe's, Whole Foods or something like that near you, you might have some luck. Additionally, this may sound strange but I've seen this sort of thing at a card & gift store occasionally.
Have fun hunting!
If you don't mind ordering online this website has really cute pastas. They also have a fundraising program.
Try kitchen stores or kitchen specialty shops.
Whole Foods.
Their Mac n cheese boxes... Skip the cheese packet & add whatever sauce I'm using.
I found mine at an Amish market. (We live an hr from Holmes county in Ohio it's a huge Amish community) that's where my daughter found alphabet pasta tiny tiny letters.
In our grocery store it is in a different aisle than the pasta aisle.Look in the specialty foods aisle or ask someone. If your supermarket does not stock it you can just order it online. amazon has alphabet pasta.
I've never seen smiley face pasta (or the like) in any supermarket OR any Italian store.
I think O. if the websites suggested below is your best bet.
You need to find a grocery that does international foods. We have two Italian stores near me, and I can't believe the variety of pasta shapes I can buy.
Any grocery store has them.
Do you have any Italian markets or delis nearby? I've gotten alphabet pasta there, as well as some other unusual and interesting shapes.
What about Cost Plus, do you have one of those?
If all else fails there's always Amazon!
My daughter's class did a fundraiser with the company "Fun Pasta". Talk
about a wide variety...even collegiate teams. If you see something you like you could see if you could buy it directly from them.
Cost Plus World Market always has cute shaped pasta in their food section.
Import shops have some interesting shapes but I don't think alphabet shapes.
My kids find anything other than straight interesting enough. Oh heck they like straight too. It is food, it doesn't have to look fun.
