As my daughter and I sit here waiting for the launch of space shuttle Atlantis, she is bombarding me with questions. Obviously questions I don't know the answers to. Any good recommendations for space books for 4 year olds?

What can I do next?

can't think of books off hand but the Little Mammoth "Big Adventure" video series has a nice one called "The Big Space Shuttle" which is a very kid-friendly explanation of the shuttle, narrated by kids - you could even check your local public library for it, we've seen it in a number of public library systems:

The museum of science and history in Ft. Worth has so great books about space. I'm pretty sure you can shop online through their store.

We bought a great pop-up space book from Barnes & Noble for $7. Typically, they have a section (inside the children's book area) of discount/sale books... which seem to be the same books every time (it never changes). There tends to always be books on nature, ocean, various kinds of animals, space, human body. Even if the book is geared for older children, anything with pictures is good at her age.

I've found some great stuff on this website for my 4 y/o-
www.thespacestore.com

The library is also a great resource for these kinds of books and this way you can have your child pick the book then check it out. My son is 10 times more likely to read a book if he actually picks it out then gets to do the processs of checking it out with his own library card =-)

Don't you just love how inquisitive kids are???!!!!
