Strep butt? My son and niece both manifest strep down there. My son usually complains more about itching, and there's slight irritation, but a quick swab will confirm it.
My daughter has been complaining that her bottom hurts both when she poops and when she pees. I've had her at the doctor twice and they have tested for bladder infection (negative) and said that they don't see any signs of a yeast infection. She is still complaining and last night in the tub cried that it hurt when I wasn't even touching her - just trying to look at it. Obviously it's hurting but the doctor can't find anything - does anyone else have any ideas of what could be wrong?

maybe shes having hard bowl movements and they are tearing her a little which could burn when she pees. i agree with what busy mom says try some prune, apple, or grape juice
i wonder if she is having hard bowel movements that are causing pain for her? maybe you could try giving her some prune juice, apple juice or introducing a little more fiber into her diet to see if that helps.
I agree with the other moms. Is she constipated? It can feel literally like sitting on bricks and it hurts. Maybe a hemmroid? My daughter got one at 1 yr old due to chronic constipation. I would literally have to pull it out of her it was awful. Also, have you checked in between? A baby butt crack can get sore and infected and it is extremely painful. Does she scratch at it? Im not sure what else it could be but I hope she feels better!
has the doctor looked for signs of rectal bruising or trauma ?has her behavior changed at all in the last couple of weeks ?sounds to me like the doctor is missing something big.

i am not jumping to any conclusions here, but, it cant hurt to rule out trauma
This is not going to the post you're looking for, but I have to bring it up. Any chance someone has been touching her inappropriately? I truly hope that's not the case, and you learn the root cause is something else. Good luck!
Maybe she has a fissure, a very slight tear. Yes, they are very painful, even when you are not pooping. You may want to soften her stool a little bit. We like all-natural flax oil. You can buy it in a healthier market/vitamin supply store in the capsule form and just cut the tip and put in a drink. We like to put it in chocolate milk.
A lot of people covered things I would but I would check for some type of food allergy. You can try giving her very bland food for a while (nothing citrus or acidic so no tomatoes, strawberries, oranges, etc) And possibly get her checked for a food allergy.
In the mean time you could make your own triple-paste with equal parts hydrocortisone cream, zinc or diaper cream, and monistat or something for yeast... if nothing else it will coat the irritated areas when she does go.
Hi, Mama:
Does she have pin worms?
Is she constipated?
A fissure in ano is painful until it clears up.
500 mg Vit. C. for children is helpful
to keep the stools soft.
Good luck.

We had this issue and like you, ped found nothing wrong. Sometimes certain kinds of toilet paper irritate her. The doc said that girls this age needed more moisture and for her to use aquaphor done there after showering and using the bathroom. That has helped a lot.
