Hi All-
I am currently 25 weeks pregnant with my first baby and starting to research daycare options. I live in the Glendale, CA area (near Los Angeles) and I'm looking for any referrals/recommendations you may have. Unfortunately, we are fairly new to the area so I don't have any friends with small children I can rely on for referrals. Thanks!

Childhood Education Center in La Canada is the BEST!! I used to volunteer there for hours toward my Child Development Degree. I love their facilities and philosophies. If I still lived in Glendale I would send my child there in a heartbeat.

I am in the same boat but already have my baby and need something in May! My other son is at Kid's Klub in Pasadena and he loves it there. Unfortunately, the wait list for infants is long (about 9-12 months) and I didn't do what you are doing now and get my second son on the list in time. I would definitely check it out though - takes me 10 minutes to drive there on the 210 from the 2.

Hi S.!

Congratulations on your upcoming birth of your baby. I love our daycare. We have our son at La Canada Presbyterian Church Infant Care Center. They are located on foothill Blvd near the 210 and 2. They are associated with the church however do not push any religious practices on the children. They rake infants as young as 6 weeks, though most start around 4 or 5 months. They do have a slight waiting list so smart to think about this now. They also have a really high care giver / child ratio so your baby will get a lot of attention there.

Glendale College also has a program there for infant care at there Preschool although their wait list is very long so you'd have to get on that list pretty quick if you like their center better.

I did a lot of research on this topic when my son was born ( he is now 18 months) so feel free to email me it you have any additional questions or need any other referrals.

Good luck!!!

Not sure if you are in Glendale near Burbank but I am really happy with our daycare person. My older son was with her until he started kindergarten and is one of the strongest students in his class. My 21 month old has been with her since he was 4.5 months old and is a happy and confident little guy. If you want her contact info please send me a note.

Check out the Child Development Center at the Glendale Community College. The waiting list is LONG (I've been on it for a year and a half, and finally gave up), but the facility is nice, the teachers are great, prices about average (though they all seem high to me!)
