I hope it's not spider bites........
My DD occasionally wakes up with bites. When she has them she has a lot of them. We discovered that spiders were getting into her room and snacking on her at night because they couldn't find any food.
Keep an eye on those bites because if they are spider bites they can grow into ugly, red, ring like patterns surrounding the bite. It looks like ring worm, but the Dr told us it was a spider bite. It's a harmless allergic reaction to the bite.
Some bites will also get dry, scaly, and sometimes itchy. They can take up to 6 weeks to heal and go away.
I have used all sorts of things to treat it and nothing seems to work well (caladryl, vitamin e oil, lotions, and creams you name it!). Don't let them get dry though; they become more red- so benadryl cream is useless.
We found prevention to be the best way to deal with it.
Spiders hate citric acid (so do many other bugs). So any household product containing orange oil will keep them away.
I have found it cheapest to buy a large bottle of orange oil at Home Depot or Lowes (found in their cleaning supply or organic gardening section). I water some down in a spray bottle 1 part orange oil to 4 parts water and spray it on the baseboards, under the furniture, and in the closets around the house.
Spray everything about every 3 or 4 months because the stuff does wear off after a while.
Also take off all the outlet covers in his room and spray in some expandable insulating foam. This will seal the space in the wall around the outlet so spiders living in the walls and attic can not use the outlet as a way to get into his room. You can get a can of expandable foam at the hardware store too. Ive also seen it at Walmart.
Also vacuum under and inside all the furniture in his room.
Between the mattresses too. The first spider we found in my DD's room was hiding between the mattresses on her bed.
About three months later she got bit again and we found one hiding in a top corner of her closet.
