Sons Circumcision

My son is 3 years old. He was circumsized but for about a week now he keeps saying his boy parts hurt and I looked and it doesn't look like there's anything terribly wrong just maybe they cut a little too much on a part or not enough all around. Will that affect him? Or am I just worrying too much?

What can I do next?

My son complains when he gets erections saying it "hurts". Could that be it?

Hmmm...I just had a dr. appt with my 8 yo claiming that his penic was hurting. The doc says it is common that boys get "discomfort" from 1. chemical irritation (new detergent, tub cleaner, etc) or 2. Friction. Turns out our issue was from friction from an athletic cup. Does his weenie point down in his undies? Let him soak in the tub too.

My son had this issue when he started noticing his erection. It will hopefully go away in time. He wont notice it. I would say though if it is still bugging him in about a month or so, or if there is any sign of other issues. Take him to the doc.

Are there any adhesions? Our son's pediatrician suggested he might get 'painful erections' at this age. He's not circumcised, but it may be that adhesions could also form on a circumcised child. I'd take him in to the ped just for a little check.

Now that he is older if any of the skin stuck when he healed it could be getting pulled and cause some discomfort. If it keeps up, or if you notice any bleeding or signs of infection I would talk to the doc, but chances are it's not a big deal and he will heal up again all on his own and be just fine.
