I've done that before dont worry! I called my Mom freaking out and she said it was fine. And you know what? It was and it tasted great!
I can't believe what I just did! Way too much to do today!
I usually have left over turkey from Thanksgiving that I freeze and reheat for an annual pot luck. We ate all of it this year, so I had to get another turkey to cook tonight. I thought I had all the innards out of it. I just went to open one bag thinking it was the giblets. It was gravy! The turkey had been in the oven over an hour. I managed to get another bag out of the neck area.
Do you think the turkey is a safe to eat having had that bag in there?
Is it much different than the Reynolds bag I am cooking the turkey in?
TIA

That happened to me the very first time I cooked a turkey....
I thawed it, and pulled the neck out of the body cavity, and was disappointed that they hadn't included the giblets!
We went ahead and cooked it...... and when hubby was carving it, we found the bag of giblets (now cooked) in the neck cavity!
The turkey was just fine... I don't remember if we used the giblets or not, though.... ( I usually cook those in water and use that broth to baste the turkey, and add the meat from the neck and some of the giblets to the dressing.....)

Yes, it is fine.. Will not harm a thing..
Ha! I just cooked a delicious turkey tonight and yep, I left the bag of giblets inside it THE WHOLE TIME! Doi!!! We ate the turkey anyway...and it was great!
I am not sure how I managed that either? I took out the neck and a handful of stuff? I thought was all of it but while carving I realized there was a whole bag of stuff inside!
Funny!
