Soccer Snack Ideas?

I have a son that doesn't really like regular food much. He's more of a sweet treat kid, hence the goldfish, cheese and apple slices idea didn't go over well. Nor did the pretzels, string cheese and individual carrot bags. We bought animal cracker cookies. They are sweet but at least it is not actual chocolate covered cookies. So I like to bring two other items like gummi bears or something for snack day. Any ideas for kid with the sweet tooth.

I want my son to be happy about snack day but not be overloaded with sugar either.

Thanks.

ETA:
I do bring in fresh fruit at half time. I brought in orange slices for half-time two weeks ago and came home with just about all my orange slices because most of the kids didn't want them. They were so sweet, juicy and delicious. I'm bringing in grapes tomorrow!

My kids are all in soccer and other parents have brought cookies and gummis in several times. My kids were thrilled, needless to say. I am happy any time a parent contributes whatever they want. If I don't want my kid eating it or it doesn't meet my "quality standards", we would say graciously say thank you and move on--and be happy they remembered all the kids on snack day.

But this child of mine has a sweet tooth and he doesn't want goldfish or pretzels. :-( Other parents have brought in graham cracker scooby snacks and gummi bears (a few times actually) and they have the same grams of sugar as the animal cracker cookies which is 8 grams. So I'm looking for additional snacks that aren't too sweet that would go well. Seeking ideas.

@Jenny and others whom recommended nuts: Darn those pesky peanut allergies but I'm reluctant to bring anything with nuts. We also supply 'snacks' for all siblings of soccer players. I like the popcorn idea though! Who doesn't love popcorn?! You probably also figured my son is one of those picky eaters...he would pick candy, cake and cookies for 3 squares and 2 snacks a day if he could! It's challenging because he also has scaled shelves when I hid the 'goodies'. He's getting a little better, slowly though.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I'll take the fresh fruit for half time. The parents seem to do about "3" treats after the game so I love the Gogurts idea and he loves granola bars but I still need to add two more things to whatever treat I bring after the game. In a nutshell, I bring 4 things. I brought the crackers, cheese and grapes and the oranges for half time.

Snacks (especially snacks for physical activities like soccer) are supposed to refuel children so that they have great energy to play and make it through the day. Healthy food is the best way to do this. I was trying to think of health foods that have a somewhat sweet flavor and I though of trail mix. I would make my own so I can control what goes into it, and add a little bit of something sweet in with all of the good stuff.

The grapes were always a hit for our soccer games. Another hit was otter pops (or something like it), which helps them rehydrate. We always did a healthy snack at half time and a treat after the game.

We like to take Gogurts. Everybody seems to enjoy them. You can take them cold or frozen, either way they are a good treat.

How about popcorn? At least it has some fiber. There is the kettle corn and other flavors. If there are no nut allergies, Costco has boxes of individual trail mix and also nuts. Granola bars are always good as well as fruit of all kinds. Personally, I'd stay away from bringing candy. Maybe explain to your son that your body needs healthy food after exercizing. Give him some healthy choices and have him help decide. Maybe he'd be more likely to try it then.

How about Nutrigrain bars? Sweet but some semblance of nutrition.

Hopefully, he'll be hungry enough and just eat something like that you
bring?

I like your idea of animal cracker cookies (not the iced ones).

I know you mentioned apple slices but maybe apple slices with the small individual caramel dipping sauce would do the trick? I've also seen trail mix put into small zip locks bags (if no one has peanut allergies). My kids also love rice crispy treats and cheerio clusters (there are several variations of this recipe you can find online). Hope that helps!

For our soccer snack we bring orange slices. They really help to refuel the kids.

Honey wheat pretzles and apple sauce in little packs are good, too. And the strwberry and peach are very sweet.

I think that you've given your son good choices. You need to give him the old - this or nothing... Eventually, he'll chose something. :)

I like the trail mix idea a lot, too. Healthy snack with a few chocolate chips or M&Ms tossed in. Tricky!!

Ummmmm.......animal cracker cookies and gummi bears are NOT snacks, they are treats.
Instead of worrying what to buy that he wants you should worry about getting him to eat healthy. Do you bring snack for the entire team on your turn? I would be po'd if a mom brought in gummi bears and cookies for snack time.
