DS will be turning 3 next week, and we're looking to possibly get him into soccer somewhere in the next few months just for fun. We're in McKinney, but from what I can find, the city doesn't offer soccer to kids younger than 5. Has anyone gone throught any other city-sponsored or private orgs for soccer at this age in the Collin County area? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
I would love to get my kids into soccer too...Plano sports is booked up and the soccertotsdallas that was mentioned is really expensive...especially if you have more than one child : (
I don't know how far you are from us but I was thinking about starting a tots soccer group (free of course). I played soccer for a long time so I know the drills and with creative input from others we could come up with our own drills/games...It would not be a drop your kid off and leave sort of thing though.
If you are interested in talking about this idea more, please e-mail me at ____@____.com I can start a list of people who are interested and even if Allen is too far for you we can still share ideas : )
Check with the Plano YMCA on Legacy. I definitely recommend them and their prices were low. My son played a season of soccer with them when he was 4 and their team consisted of 3 & 4 year olds. They had 1 or 2 practices a week and games on Saturdays at the YMCA. My son loved it. Although now he is 6 1/2 and is all about baseball and football!
The Plano Rec Center offers soccer classes for 3-4 year olds and its very inexpensive.
They also have soccertots which starts classes at 18 months, but it is much more pricey.
Hope this helps!
