How can I get the citations to insert themselves, if that makes any sence. I have completed a paper and have the resources but the citations didnt apply themselves.

What can I do next?

Sence? That doesn't make sense. :p

I haven't used word in forever and hated it the whole time. Anyway they don't insert themselves, it is a program, not a mind link. You have to right click after the cited passage and insert the appropriate citation. This is going under the assumption you have the resources properly entered.

Under the references tab you add sources under manage sources. Then in the same tab you click insert citation after the cited passage.

If you figure out how to get the citations to insert themselves, let me know. That would be super handy.

You have to add them yourself. :)

I believe Microsoft Office 2010 has a section for citations. But I have no idea how it works.

Good luck!

Welcome to Mamapedia!

Things do NOT just insert themselves into a document. Does that make sense???? Computers do what you tell them to do.

Citations? Are you talking about LINKS to something or are you writing a thesis? If so, you need to link the documents via a hypertext link.

Perhaps you meant to ask the question you asked in a different way than the other posters took it, Redd. Perhaps you are asking people how to go about putting your citations into your computer so that they will "spit out" in the format your professor wants...

How about writing another thread and say "How do I ..." instead of naming it "Soc 120". Computer techy people would be more apt to open your question if you write it in a way that makes them want to read it.

And change the way you asked the question, since it seems to people that you don't know that you have to give the info to the computer in the first place...

Hope you get the answers you need on the 2nd try...
