I think what you need is vitamin B, its worked great for me, you can get it at GNC, B50 works wonders!!
Hi moms!
I could use some advice! I am always tired... always! It doesn't matter if I have been swamped all day or done nothing at all. I can't seem to shake it. I asked my doctor to check my thyroid and he said the level came back normal. (My mom and sister both have thyroid problems.) I do have some trouble with hypoglycemia and try to keep it in check. As long as I don't let my blood sugar get too low I am okay with that I think.
I don't think I am depressed, and I stilll desire to do a lot of things. I am just too tired to do all of them! I have trouble staying asleep at night and I never feel very well rested. When I have to work or coach I suck it up and force myself to get up and do it, but it takes everytihng I've got. I really want this to get better because summer is starting and I want to be able to do things with the kids. We have been out of school for a week and i don't feel like I have done anything. Help!
Thank you all for the wonderful advice. I will look into all of your ideas. Thanks again!

See a sleep specialist and have a sleep study done. I was the same way, and found out I have Sleep Apnea. It improved dramatically after I got help.
Best wishes. :o)
Like many others have said already, I'd have your iron checked. I recently found out that I am severely anemic, during some pre-op blood work. That explains so many things over the last few years... things that I attributed to work, lack of sleep, chasing a 2 year old, etc. To find out that it was 'medically induced' was validating. It wasn't just in my head. Good luck... and here's to an active, fun-filled, ENERGY-filled summer!
Try removing all wheat (switch to Ezekiel Bread) and sugar (switch to Stevia) from you diet.
My first thought was to get a little exercise. I know it seems counter-productive when you're tired and just want to rest, but moving and getting your heart rate elevated can stimulate more energy during the day and help you sleep more soundly at night. Maybe just add a 15 minute brisk morning walk for a few days and see how the rest of the day feels.
Hi Christi,
When was your last physical? If you're due, be sure the doctor does a full blood panel to be sure all your levels are where they should be. I wouldn't just arbitrarily take anything without knowing whether or not your body needs it. Granted, some are water soluble and your body just gets rid of any excess but some are not and you could be asking for problems if you take too much of something you don't need.
Be sure you keep your self well hydrated, I know that can make you feel awful if you don't stay hydrated.
Oh, you mentioned you have a problem with hypoglycemia? I don't know much about it, but it may be a good idea to discuss that with your doctor to be sure nothing has changed.
You know, it could be so many things causing this. I'd begin with a physical and a talk with your doctor and take it from there.
I hope you feel better soon.
((hugs))
Also, Christi, you may want to have your thyroid checked again. I have hyperthyroidism, and initially when I noticed how exhausted I was, I asked my doctor to test me, and everything came back normal. Well, a year later a different doctor, and guess what I was diagnosed with???? Yea, sometimes you need a second, and third opinion.
Low iron is also a possibility. I'm also severely anemic, and must take iron pills 3x's a day, and when I don't I'm jello…..Great advice Meaghan H.
Hope you feel betterChristi!
how is your blood pressure? i had high blood pressure and felt the same way now that my bp is controlled i feel great!
Have your dr check your hormone levels. It is a simple saliva test done in the office. I was like you, tired and unmotivated, not depressed, I just didn't want to go do anything because I just had no energy. So I had my hormones checked and they were off so I was prescribed a progesterine (sp) hormone cream and I feel great! It is "bioidentical" which means it has the same molecular structure as your body produces which means no side effects. Talk to your dr and check out the website: womeninbalance.org. My dr pointed me to this website for more info on hormonal balance. It has some great information.
It sounds to me like you have many thyroid symptoms. I have little trust in doctors, tho, so you may want a second opinion on that thyroid test. You can go to stopthethyroidmadness.com and look at all the symptoms you have described and why many doctors miss the diagnosis. If it really is not thyroid, you could check B12 levels...pernicious anemia can make you feel lousy, too.
Good luck,
S.
Maybe you are tired all the time because you cannot sleep... thus you are sleep deprived. Thus, you are tired during the daytime. Too.
"natural calm" http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3... is good. Also helps one to relax and de-stress. Its all natural.
Also, Hyland's Calms Forte for adults, is good too. I take that for when I can't sleep. Its all natural. You can find this or the Natural Calm, at any natural food store of Whole Foods.
All the best,
Susan
Have your serum B12 levels checked
You could be anemic (low iron counts). It is really easy to "test" yourself for it. Just begin taking a multivitamin that has 100% of your daily iron and see if you feel better. I feel your pain though...I too feel tired quite a bit of the time!
It could be a number of things...I would check for heavy metals (metal poisoning). If your body doesn't eliminate them it will mess-up your entire system and you will feel tired all the time! There are natural products that can help you if this is the case and they work well.
Goodluck!
I really do feel what you are saying!
Have you considered sleep apnea? You could have a sleep study done. Since youmention trouble sleeping at night.
are you taking a good daily multi-vitamin? note, i say a GOOD one. lol. the vitamins that you can get over the counter are really not very good. they crystallize and then your body cant absorb them. (hence why your pee turns bright yellow or green!) i started buying all of my vitamins on-line from a wellness company. they offer a 90 day challenge on them so if you dont feel better in 90 days you get your money back. I actually cant even take the daily recommended dosage of them, because they give me so MUCH energy that i cant fall asleep! i have been dragging a this week, and i know its because i have forgotten to take my vitamins all week.
Hi Christi,
I feel the same way.. I just Monday went to a new Endocrynologist because I wasn't feeling to well. Very tired all the time. And the old dr that I had kept telling me that's part of Hypothyroid... So I decided to switch drs. First thing she told me that she will check my thyroid levels, iron levels, vit D levels and she did a full blood panel test. Just got a call back yesterday and she said that my iron levels are very low and she wants me to take 350mg of iron sulfate a day! My thyroid levels were way off as well even though I had them tested 1 month ago with my old dr and he said everything was fine.. So starting today I'm on iron tablets and my synthroid strenght was also changed. I can't wait to see if it will make a difference but I'm so happy I got a second opinion (actually this is the 4th endocrynologist over the years but first to do all the other tests) Good Luck-A.
Your blood sugar could be the problem or check out chronic fatigue syndrome, or possible sleep apnea. Good luck.
if you aren't sleeping well at night you might want to get checked for sleep apnea.
have you had your iron level checked? when every my iron level is low, i have tired alot and get dizzy easily.
Not sure but might have some suggestions. Call me, Ruth @ ###-###-####, thanks!
