I was just wondering if anyone knows the etiquette for my particular situation. I was seeing a Midwife whom I LOVE however we were having a hard time TTC, so I went for a consultation at a fertility Dr. on the first of September. He Prescribed one clomid shot which i did that night and now a week and a half later I have taken 5 pregnancy tests since last Friday and all were positive with the exception of one that was taken last Friday.
My Question is, Do I have to go back to the Fertility Dr. or can I go back to my Midwife for the blood test? Also should I wait until I miss my next period before making an appointment, or can i make it right away? This is my first time and I am trying to keep grounded! so excited!
thanks for all your advice in advance!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I found out today the shot I got was actually ovidrel. Fertility doc wants me to do a blood test. Hopefully I will get to a quest today because I won't be able to get to their office.

I would go back to the fertility doctor. If there was a hormonal imbalance that made it difficult for you to get pregnant, he would be the best one to catch it. There is no reason why you can't switch to the midwife once you are through the first trimester.

Ok I would see your firtility Dr as with many firtility meds the at home tests may not be right. I was on firtility with my first two and I went to them. The up side is if you are they will do an ultrasound right away to make sure everything is going ok. With my first I has two early ultrasounds and they could pinpoint my due date very well. I had her on my due date too! They will send you to your midwife as soon as they are assured you are doing well.

You can make an appt with your midwife for a blood test and you don't need to wait until your next period. At this point your pregnancy would not be considered high risk just based on difficulty conceiving. One thing that concerns me is that you say you had a "shot" of Clomid. Clomid to my knowledge is taken as a pill so you may have had another medication that could indeed cause your pregnancy test to be positive when indeed you are not pregnant. Please call your fertility Dr and tell him or her about your positive pregnancy tests and ask what medication you were given. Wishing you the best in growing your family. Nurse Midwife Mom

Since your fertility set you up to help you get pregnant, call them and tell them that you've popped positive and the details. They will tell you what your next steps should be and you can ask for other options, if it's a money thing. But go to the original doctor and call to ask what your next step should be. They will walk you through what you need to do. No matter who you go to, be sure to have regular and thorough medical support during your pregnancy. Be sure to start prenatal vitamins if you haven't started them already.

First of all, Congrats! Make an appointment with whoever you want. I was seen my my doctor about 8 weeks each time. I was really crampy with my first baby so they got me in @ 6 weeks to make sure everything was ok. It was.
Im not sure how midwives work, I saw an OB.

You do not have to wait for a missed period. But my OB said to wait until 8 weeks to be seen, so by then the period was missed. Make it with whoever you want to make it with...it's your pregnancy!

I don't see why you would need to see a fertility doctor unless you also had lost a lot of pregnancies - and she owuld probably send you to a high risk OB anyway. My regular OB actually gave me Clomid, so I know a regular OB can handle it. Just call both offices and tell them, yea, I am positive, and say you will be seeing your midwife. If she felt she couldn't handle it, I would hope she'd tell you.
