i am in charge of snack time for our soccer camp. i have no budget but want to keep the cost low. the camp runs two hours in the evenings for a week in july. the group is from 5-12 years so there is a varied age group....i need simple ideas. snack time will be for about 15-20 minutes during the evening!!!!
ps i was told to stay away from anything with nuts for allergy reasons.

The first thing that comes to mind is watermelon.
Other ideas...
any type of fresh fruit
string cheese and crackers
if the timing is right, popsicles
and don't forget the water... lots and lots of water.
These guys are going to be starving in the evenings. Our Soccer camp is in the mornings and lets out by lunch time. Remember the complex carbohydrates. The complex carbs will stay with the guys but it can't be anything too heavy. I am thinking maybe Oatmeal Raisin bars, I know they said no nuts but kids with allergies that serious really need to be safe and bring things from home. Their moms can fix theirs and they will know exactly what they are getting.
