My daughter loves pretzels and really likes crackers, I think from Keebler, that are pretzel on one side and cracker on the other. I think they are called Flips. She also likes to eat baby carrots, bread with peanut butter.
Hi Moms-
Right on schedule, my son(16 months old) has become a picky eater. I am looking for NON dairy snack ideas. He loves cheerios, crackers, breadsticks, fruit so I am looking for other ideas to get him away from too many carbs. If you have any suggestions, they are much appreciated. Thanks!

If you let your son participate in preparing his snacks then he'll be more likely to eat them. That way, you can try some new ideas. A favorite for my girls has always been hard boiled eggs. Your son can peel them and slice them with an egg slicer (very safe) or a blunt knife (such as a spreader or a plastic knife).
Other ideas: sweet clementines (choose the ones with the loose peel and seedless), cheese (give him slices and let him cut into different shapes with cookie cutters, then eat them), cucumbers (he can slice with a crinkle cutter; it's blunt and the slices look fun).
In my parent-child class for children ages 0 to 3 snack preparation and serving take center stage, It's the favorite part of the morning for both children and parents.
Visit www.growingimpressions.org and plan to visit my upcoming open house. It's so much fun!
Good luck!

Sometimes I give my little guy cocktail pumpernickel with edamame hummus on it. still carbs, but a little different. plus, you'd never expect a 13 month old to love the REALLY garlicky hummus but he just crams it in his mouth! it also gives him some protein too.
Cheerios (especially mulit-grain), fresh fruit cut into small pieces (bananas, manago, pineapple, melons, etc.), avocado, frozen mixed veggies mixed with steamed rice, no-sugar-added applesauce, deli meats (you can roll them up so they fit in his hand), black olives (they love to stick them on their fingers =)), morning star products (in the freezer section), fig newton cookies (they have a serving of fruit in them), just experiment. And of course goldfish crackers but you probably aleady know about that one.
My 15 month old daughter loves the little Vienna Sausages in a can. Usually between 30 cents to 90 cents a can in any store that carries them. Aldi and Deals have them for like 30 cents a can. There are 6, maybe 7 in each can. Great source of protein.
