hi ladies. have something a little weird that i cannot find a single thing on the internet for. yesterday i noticed on the underside of my middle finger i had a little raised bump of on my skin with either an indent of a small black spot in the middle. then this morning i woke up with a little raised double bump on my opposite index finger with black dots in the centers. i'm kinda freaking out that the new ones were from touching the old one. i just put bandaids on but obviously i've touched a million things since then including my children and self. has anyone heard or anything like this?? help!

Hi K.,
It could be worts & worts are a viral infection. I would call your doctor or even a dermatologist to see if that is what it is. I have had them on & off all throughout my life & that's what it seems to me. They can have one bump or several bumps or clusters of bumps. They just come out of the blue & I am told that something triggers them (ie: stress). I hope its something simple for you. Best of luck.

I believe it may be a wart. I had something that sounds similar to what you're stating and I just bought some over the counter "Freeze Wart" type stuff and it worked.

I'm thinking it's warts. Call your dr. and get them looked at. They're not a big deal, lots of medications can take care of them.

Definitely a wart. They are very contagious which is why you saw it jump from one finger to the adjacent finger. Please take care during an outbreak not to pop them (which will cause it to spread) or touch your face or other body parts. It is caused by a viral infection (papillomavirus : HPV) You may have gotten it by shaking hands with someone, or on a grocery cart or shared keyboard. The virus invades the outer layer of skin, usually through a tiny scratch or cut, it causes rapid growth of cells on the outer layer of skin – creating the wart. Also it attacks if your immune system is weak. 1. wash your hands thoroughly and regularly 2. use those wipes on the grocery cart before you use it 3. if you go to the gym before you workout with equipment someone else sweat on who might have the virus wipe it off.

This is common remember that warts can spread quickly and as soon as you see an outbreak you should act immediately. Try trying at home treatments salicylic acid or clear nail polish or tape or any other method that suffocates the virus. If that is not working for you see a dermatologist, they can freeze or burn the wart off, and you might ask your doctor for an immune boosting medicine.
